BYD's AI investment. they are really getting into this. 500 people team is just the start.
That would benefit tesla, more than GM and ford, which will be left behind in the EV industry. China only needs to concentrate on nationalizing tesla.
I don't understand why China hasn't ejected Tesla from the Chinese market as yet. Until recently you could perhaps make an argument for forbearance, demonstrating good faith, leaving room for negotiating win-win compromises, ensuring there are still stakeholders in the United States willing to advocate for pragmatic policies, etc. but all of that is out the window at this point, and what remains is weakness in the face of American aggression, thereby encouraging more aggression.

All the more Chinese should make sure not to license or build any up/downstream EV battery supplies in America. Or to enable American mainland factories to benefit from Chinese batteries supply chain.
(Reuters) - Incoming U.S. President Donald Trump’s transition team is recommending sweeping changes to cut off support for electric vehicles and charging stations and to strengthen measures blocking cars, components and battery materials from China, according to a document seen by Reuters.
The transition-team plan would redirect money now flowing to building charging stations and making EVs affordable into national-defense priorities, including securing China-free supplies of batteries and the critical minerals to build them.
China isnt naive nor altrustic, Tesla has been a very useful tool in destroying western auto industry, their reliance on Chinese batteries limits the ability of other western carmakers to scaling up non Chinese battery production, nor get away with lower performing batteries, at the same time the cost advantage of Tesla exporting from Shanghai directly harms other automakers who tries to build loca and incentivize them to also build in China with Chinese batteries.I don't understand why China hasn't ejected Tesla from the Chinese market as yet.
