PetroChina with its huge charging station next to gas station and the chargers are all used.
Both PetroChina and Sinopec seem to be going all in transforming their gas stations into charging+gas stations. The Yangtze Delta highway rest areas (高速服务区), where Sinopec is dominant, all have large (50+ fast chargers) charging areas that are quite busy.
Charging stations are becoming easier to find than gas stations. I was recently in Dali Yunan, and I charged my rental Lixiang L8 at Sinopec fast chargers! Even the small towns in Yunan have fast chargers by the National Grid South.
Edit: In major cities in China, I think the charging networks are already adequate. And charging is cheap: Yunan is around 1 yuan(US$0.15) /KWh, Shanghai 1.2-2yuan/KWh. The cheapest I got so far is Zhoushan, Zhejiang, at 1/2 yuan/KWh.
