First good look at the new 8x8 chassis!! Looks like it's the engineering/repair model.

Thank you for posting them. The center photo appears to be missing. If they have the engineering vehicles, then that probably means the chassis has already entered mass production.

Just came to my mind: has anyone seen a picture of an 8x8 version WZ-551 or is that a myth? I don't remember seeing any and that could probably explain the existence of this thing?

noticed not as much armour as the stryker. DoD is putting on newer modular bolt on package that makes it resist multi hits from RPG-7 and 14.5mm rounds even before the slat add-on.

This new armour is causing the insurgents to scratch their heads abit. these PRC wheels need to put another inch of armour or advanced composite design...cheers ute

My God, i am still a VIP member. Really, i'd like to quit being one, i have no time (unfortunately) to post here (and furthermore professional forum) anyway.

Here's an article i've found one year ago, that is probably (and most likely) related to the topic. Reading board's guidelines I wasn't able to figure out if posting hard copies is appropriate here or not. Most people here can't access it in paper anyway, so i just hope it is.
This is from "Military Power" magazine, issue 2, 2004.

I don't like that notch in the middle of the hull... I smell a blast trap just sitting there... It's going to funnel the explosive force into the hull at that section, which more damage than before...
