Russian does not respect or see any of these former soviet satellite states as any major threats

Russia as a matter of fact doesn't consider anyone when it wants to act but there are some country's who Russia does see as well established adversary

In NATO the Americans, UK and Turkey are the major heavy lifters

Britain due its geographical historical location has ALOT of experience and brings all sorts to the table

New carriers,SSN, SSBN , DDG and FFG

As a matter of fact right down to OPV and replenishment tankers the Royal Navy is after decades under going a huge modernisation

The carriers especially will have Russian forces sit up and looking

But the problem with NATO is that it's not aggressive enough and doesn't take tough decisions quickly enough like it used to during the Cold War

4 French Mirage 2000-5F arrived in Šiauliai today to take over from Portuguese F-16s on the 31st Aug for batic Air Policing

From Dijon Sqn 1/2 have 20 Mirage 2000-5F former Mirage 2000C modernised wiht a PESA radar and armed with MICA AAM.

Baltic Air Policing: France and Germany take over

That's it ! The French Mirage 2000-5 are in place on the basis of Lithuanian Siauliai. These hunters came to the Luxeuil air base will participate for four months from the mission Baltic Air Policing NATO. The French took over the F-16 Portuguese who were there since May. This is the third term of the year and the 42nd rotation since the launch of the operation in 2004. For France, this is the sixth deployment in the area.

The four French Mirage 2000-5 and the staff (one hundred soldiers) arrived on 29 and 30 August in Lithuania. After two days of ramping they officially started their mission.

In parallel, based Ämari in Estonia, four Eurofighter Typhoon German of Tactical Air Wing 74 in Neuburg have replaced devices of the same British guy. During their tenure, the four Typhoon Force Royal Air took off on alert 20 times and achieved nearly 40 "interceptions".

Since 2004, September 10 NATO members participated in the Baltic Air Policing operation under the responsibility of the command of Allied Air Forces (Aircom) based in Ramstein, Germany. The NATO aircraft deployed in the Baltic states are placed on alert 24h on 24, 7 days 7 to perform the control of the airspace of NATO in this area
