I mean is every cable has two ends, US will tell China's surrounding nations to cut off their end to China, which they can easily do... thats much easier than China going around cutting off everyone elses cables, its all about getting everyone to isolate China, which is the stated goal of Mr Clean.... the world will still have Internet, but China is blackholed and blackedout
Who says they wont cut Russia too?
They will just dump US treasuries, declare all transactions to be in digital rmb, then send type 075 over for tsmc.

I'd be very surprised if the Chinese military didn't already have contingency plans to cut off all the submarine internet cables in the Western Pacific.
Whilst China can still operate with a solely Chinese internet, there is no way that Japan, Korea or Taiwan could do so.
These countries are so much smaller in comparison to China or the USA.
And if you look at that map, there are only so many landing points for all these internet cables in the Western Pacific.

The US doesn't have the power to force the Europeans to disconnect Russia from the internet.
And if both China and Russia are simultaneously cut off, what are the chances of a solid China-Russia military alliance actually happening?
Currently, Russia recognises that it could conquer Poland and possibly part of Germany.
But there is no way for Russia to hold that territory once the US and Europe mobilises.
But if you add the Chinese military into the equation, all bets are off.
Hence it is not in Europe's interest to get into a war with China.
How does China project its military into Europe? The only way is to send H-20 bombers into Europe, but these planes are not ready yet.
You missed the part about Russia and China being pushed into an alliance due to outside pressure.
Then the China Army can be transported by railway to Europe, or the Chinese Air Force can use local Russian bases.
But again, that only happens if a US-European alliance develops that is really hostile to Russia/China.

So this is just to make the point that it isn't possible for China to be isolated from the Internet, as some here suggest.

Another benefit of putting the desktop version of wechat inside a Virtual Machine is that I can use a VPN only on that VM, so it won't affect the rest of my normal machine usage but I can keep that small VM running/open in the background (be it with virtual box or vmware workstation) and still allow for keeping wechat up and running and presumably connected over VPN for the duration of the VM session itself...
I'll be making a video tutorial for absolute beginners on this in the upcoming days and then posting it online for those interested...
