I can't wait to see this film: Napoleon. Although Joaquin Phoenix is a bit tall to be playing Napoleon but he is a good actor. :)
Hmm...I am not sure if this movie is going to be good based on the preliminary analysis by this fella from HistoryLegends Youtube channel take on this movie, albeit from the trailer. It seems to suggest that the film maker took many "creative liberties" with the story and history of the Napoleon both in settings and actual history that are documented.

Basically Asians acting like whites
Lol, so East Asians don't swear, do drugs, party or act like assholes? Such things are pretty commonplace whether you go to Singapore, Seoul, Taipei, Tokyo, or any Mainland Chinese city.

Its just that in American media, people are conditioned to think Asians are only capable of behaving a certain way. Which in turn leads to some East Asian American content creators to think simply emphasizing these "forbidden fruits of Asian behaviors" and turning the dial up to 110 for shock value counts as effective writing, rather than actually focusing on developing their characters.

I saw Oppenheimer in the cinema last week after hearing all the hype about it. My summary of it:

The first part is the background, pretty typical stuff. They went with the establishment story that he was some sort of "genius" even though he actually wasn't. Academically he was a completely unremarkable student, the reason he got the positions he did was nepotism. Put it this way, there was a reason why he never won a Nobel prize.

The section part The Manhattan project was the best bit, they went into a reasonable amount of depth on the technical aspects of it. They did make out as if there was a "race" to the bomb with the Nazis, whereas in reality the Germans had only put a fraction of the resources towards their enrichment programme because they couldn't afford it.

The footage of the Trinity test was underwhelming. For some reason Nolan refused to CGI it, so we had a crappy explosion that looked more like shaky cam of a bonfire than an actual nuke. They also bitched out on showing the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings which would have been much more visually impressive. Pretty weak, especially given the fact the film specifically pointed out the Manhattan had two projects being developed concurrently.

The last part of the film was the all aftermath and being caught spying for the Soviets. This bit was boring and was blatant globalist propaganda. They made out like he was conflicted about bombing the Japanese when in reality he wasn't (even contrast to his peers like Einstein). About the spying, they focused on his alleged connections to communism but conveniently ignored the fact he was an ardent Zionist who probably made a deal with the Soviets for Israel. Apparently he was just an American patriot who handed over billions of dollars worth of research to the USSR....for peace.

The special council where he had security clearance reviewed was done deliberately to avoid the embarrassment. The establishment didn't want everyone knowing their "father of the atomic bomb" was actually a Soviet spy. At the time in America treason was commonly punished by the death penalty, so Oppenheimer was a very lucky man. Yet the film makes out like he was the victim in all of this, classic chutzpah.

The only other theme was all the women he was having sex with. All the women looked the same so I didn't really follow what was going on, but there was a scene where he has a naked women sitting cowboy on him titties bouncing while holding the Hindu holy book and he's reading verses from it while having sex. I bet they only put that in to piss off the Hindus....imagine doing that with the bible or koran.

The film was pretty meh overall. Better than most films that come out these days, but forgettable. Unless you have an interest in the Manhattan project I don't see what the fuss is about. I didn't know it was 3 hours long, if I did I would have waited until it was available on stream.

People watch it for Christopher Nolan and this movie has almost all his typical style choices. Never understood the hype around that guy, yeah his movies usually have good visuals, but boy does he give Japanese video game writers a run for their money in terms of his infatuation with exposition. Often times, such as this movie, his ass gets saved mostly because he manages to land heavy hitting actors.

East Asian's can't party? Definitely not as prevalent nor accepted as it is in the West, but there's plenty of partying going on in East Asia.
I see it as just a validation piece aimed at asians that want to be accepted by whites. Those that don't care for acceptance from whites, would not care about this movie, because it has no meaningful substance (from reading these posts). All it is to those of us that don't care, is, simply, a movie that tries hard to say "hey, asians can be 'just like' whites, so accept us".
Live your own life, and care less. It's liberating.

Edit: Also, asians that have a life in asian communities don't need to be reminded of these things, it's like being reminded that you need to breathe and eat food.

Napoleon was above average height for Frenchmen at the time. His shortness was mostly due to British propaganda though I guess it would be fair to say he would be considered short today at 5'6”.

I’m worried the movie is gonna be woke because apparently it’s gonna focused on Napoleon’s relationship with Josephine. You know his wife who cheated on him? “Napoleon may have (almost) conquered Europe but she conquered him” theme.

In a sense modern Feminism and SJW is the natural ideological progression of enlightenment ideas championed by Napoleon himself. Which it kind of find funny and reminds me of the quote “too soon to tell,” by Zhou Enlai when asked about his thoughts of the French Revolution.
