Maybe I'm crazy, but I'm probably the only person in the world who thinks that Oppenheimer was actually super boring. It had good stuff here and there, it is Nolan after all, and above all the acting is the best I've seen all year. But, MINOR SPOILERS I was checking my phone every 10 minutes after the bomb exploded. (That's the minor spoiler, the movie goes on for an hour after the bomb test)

What? There is a bomb explosion in the movie? How dare you ruin the movie for me!!!

Recently saw the Chinese film, "Lost in the Stars," which I feel is one of the best films I've ever seen. Would highly recommend it to anyone that has not seen it.

You'd be the guy that ruined "Titanic" for me by telling me the ship sank!

Actually just got back from Oppenheimer, I thought it was good but didn't really justify the hype. A bit spoiled for me as I couldn't hear the dialogue very well in the cinema but I will watch it again with subtitles and maybe read the book.

I just watched Oppenheimer. The movie wasn't about the bomb. They hyped up how they didn't use CGI for the bomb exploding. They couldn't really explode a nuke so they had to settle for multiple takes on a pyro technique display. Frankly I thought it looked like a dud.

The same debate on whether they should use the bomb can be said today. There was an article recently about the US wanting to prevent China from increasing its nuclear arsenal. If they were smart, they should've stopped Trump from publicly saying he wanted more nukes for the US while demanding China reduce theirs. Today the US acts like Trump never said that. See...? Stupid. Now China is going to increase to almost near parity with the US. Why was the US so stupidly arrogant? Because they went by the belief that if China could have more, they would've done it already. They didn't believe it was China responsible enough where having a few hundred was enough for deterrence. No they wanted to believe that was the limit of Chinese capabilities hence they had the advantage. In the movie the US didn't believe the Russians were capable of having the bomb. And against Oppenheimer's wishes, the US getting the bomb first wasn't a catalyst for international control of its use and prevent an nuclear arms race. The same excuses for the US using the bomb on Japan can be said for today for anything.
