Dave Prowse, the British weightlifter-turned-actor who was the body, though not the voice, of arch-villain Darth Vader in the original “Star Wars” trilogy, has died. He was 85.
Based on a real Iraqi 'SWAT' unit that fought in the battle of Mosul. Some silly tactics too but overall a good movie. There's also a documentary on the Battle of Mosul that came out last year, and the 'feel' of this movie very closely matches that documentary
And the Hollywood foreign press who operates the Golden Globes awards the judges are mostly from Europe. You think they would actually want to live up to their names by adding foreign press from non European countries? The joke is the Hollywood foreign press are made up of foreign nobodies where this is their only chance to get to schmooze with Hollywood royalty up close and personal. You think they would want to allow more foreign journalists that would vote for "foreign" movies with "foreign" filmmakers they never heard of and therefore make their time of year less glamorous...?
Fascinating piece of history. Titled the Hakujaden or the Panda and the White Serpent as it was released in the West, the first ever colored anime film and movie is based on a Song Dynasty folktale.
The movie gave Hayao Miyazaki his first waifu hots and inspired him towards his career in animation. Bai Niang with her courage, sacrifice, and pro-activeness, would help inspire Miyazaki's heroines.
I would watch it Jason Isaacs alone. This is the kind of high tech resort Chinese real estate developers would build in real life so for the local movie audiences they may relate much more to it.
