Anyone else seen Doctor Strange yet? Personally had a blast with it. Trippiest visuals this side of 2001: A Space Odyssey's ending.

I did. Walked out after twenty minutes or so.A three n half hour hour round trip to see that. Arrrrrghhhh (slap head several times)

P.S. People I went with liked it though.

Watched it. Visually stunning. For the comic book fans there are plenty of Easter-eggs. Heck they even name dropped "Living Tribunal". For the casual viewer some of the comic books elements might not make much sense (e.g. the apple scene), but I think overall story plus Cumberbatch and the rest of the cast did a pretty good job.

But as with almost all MCU movies, the villain was rather underwhelming especially considering how powerful the particular villain is in the comics (I didn't drop the name since that'll spoil things).

Overall quite enjoyable and for comic-book fans it brings magic to the MCU.

One a side note, Agents of SHIELD feels like a whole new show with the introduction of Ghostrider and the mystical elements. The best AoS season by a quite a distance. Loved it when Ghostrider broke through the containment chamber and smashed the $h!t out of Director Mace who is also a super-strong inhuman.

I especially enjoyed the ending though. Thought it was a clever twist on the city destroying end of the world fight. Also goes to show that sometimes you can't just ignore the troll, if you know what I mean :D.

I saw Arrival last night. I haven't read the short story so it would be interesting to see what was added to make it a two hour movie. I can only guess it was the learning language part. It's one of those dreary slow sci-fi movies. If you're looking for action, this movie is not it. There's a twist in the end but not sure if was just a film editing gimmick or if had to do with what was going on in the movie. I might have to watch it again to catch the clues but I'm not going to pay for it. I'll just wait until it shows on premium cable. The commercials and trailers showed military using weapons. They cut that out in the movie. People in here were talking about the Chinese military hardware. The WZ-10 had no landing gear. It must've been retractable. Some unrealistic stuff in the movie where it was mentioned that some countries follow China's lead. Another stereotype was China was the one that panicked first and wanted to attack the aliens. The Chinese used games to learn the language of the aliens which they made out to be a mistake because games create an adversarial environment. Not sure why they even mentioned it because what panicked the Chinese in the movie was an interpretation from the American team which also panicked the Pentagon.

Phew......thanks... Have a couple of beers on me.I was going to see it with some friends tomorrow after watching the trailers. But now I won't. Two dud movies in as many weeks would have been too much.
