Transformers this weekend! I can't wait!

I don't care what others have been saying about the franchise, I love it. Except Shia Labeouf (he irritates me to no end...), I love the movies.

Yeah I know, and I hope Mark Wahlberg does a better job with the character as well.

And Thursday in HK so we got a headstart, haha!

And indeed, those of us who grew up with Gen 1 Transformers we could hardly care of the script or storyline, we are just there to see Autobots and Decepticons do their thing...and this time, looks like we're getting the Dinobots, a pretty popular Autobot faction IIRC.

Absolutely! If it were up to me, I would take out all the humans and let the autobots and decepticons battle it out. Human is just annoying... Man! Do I sound like Megatron?:D

I've been reading reviews and it's hard to tell if the enemy are Decepticons. I believe Michael Bay has reimagined some things. Maybe they'll turn out to be Decepticons in the end but anyone who has read reviews or seen the trailers, humans seem to be the initial antagonists for the Autobots. One review commented the similarities to X-Men Days of Future Past. That might give you a hint. Then I read that Galvatron is in this one (which maybe the one seen in trailers) and this is where I think Michael Bay has reimagined his origins.

Yep, Galvatron would be the one with his face transforming into a huge gun. How cool is that? Hehehe

That's not Galvatron, if you watch that trailer there is a second deception there who is Galvatron. The Decepticon who's head transforms is Lockdown. He was not a generation 1 Transformer. He was added in a latter line described as a cross between Frankenstein's Monster and a bounty hunter. Apparently when he claims a head he takes a peice of his Bounty and grafts it onto himself.

According to reviews, humans have created their own Transformers which is why they're hunting down Autobots because they're not needed anymore. Apparently they created their own Transformers from the hulks of dead Decepticons including Megatron. Which seems to me is how Megatron's rebirth as Galvatron comes to be. I'm assuming the human-made Transformers turn on their human masters eventually. But the new tidbit I've been reading is there a third party which maybe the original creators of all Transformers have turned on the Autobots. So I don't know if this is something in play from the beginning or comes in later and they direct the reborn Decepticons turn to human extinction.

I never liked OJ Simpson before his downfall when everyone loved him. Why? Because before his day of infamy, on numerous occasions I would see him on interviews out of the blue take a swipe on Asians for some reason. The guy seemed to hate Asians and it only confirmed it when I saw one of the police detectives on his wife's murder case mention when OJ was interviewed shortly after where he tried to blame his wife's murder on a mysterious van driving around the neighborhood that was full of Asians.

I get the same feeling with John Cleese. I've seen Cleese on interviews taking swipes too. Cleese doesn't like the new Daniel Craig James Bond for being action-oriented? From Roger Moore to Pierce Brosnan to which he played Q were all mindless action movies. Craig's movies are less action oriented. Is Cleese mad that his character was replaced by a geeky kid in tune with modern technology? Maybe he'll make the connection to Asians because of the stereotype. Vietnam, Philippines, and Indonesia are huge markets? The international box office has only been given attention in that last few years when Skyfall was in play and some argued should've been given a Best Picture Oscar nomination. Is he going to give Asians credit for that?

Asianphobia is everywhere, particularly in Hollywood. When you look at The Departed, The Dark Knight, and just simply a bunch of those movies, Asians are always portrayed negatively. Hence I was never a fan of Hollywood.
