Those are some really impressive Tanks. optimized with the latest armor and quite a potent L55 cannon which although long for urban combat the rest of the set up and kit options makes this a tank well suited for urban and . truly the back bone of Nato's tank forces. I wonder if the Dutch are going to snag a few?

Among the best :
M-1A2 very thick armor on the front but lower on the sides and back,
Merkava maybe the best protected but less mobile / Fast
Russian tanks less lighter about 45t less high and less armored in more few space more tiring for the crew but unusual gun use missiles also since T-64.

Otherwise the better Leclerc, Chall II, K-2, Type-99 ( Type-96 as Russian lighter.. ), Ariete, Type 90 and very new Type 10 lighter as Russian but use much ceramic in, Her gun 44 cal as Type 90 and some others

Guns/caliber :
All Soviet/Russians, dérivatives Type 91... 125/48
Leclerc 120/52
Type 10/90 Leo 2 A4, M-1A1/A2, Ariete Merkava III/IV, K-1A1 120/44
Type 96, Al Khalid 125/48
Type 99 125/50
Leo 2A5/A6/A7, 2A4CHL, K-2, Altay 125/55
Arjun 120/?

The Merkeva also has a missile round for its gun. The LAHAT is derived from a Air to surface antitank missile modified to fit the 105mm and 120mm smooth bore. I have often wondered why the US just did not license it as the Army has from time to flirted with a Guided tank fired shell. Merkeva is also interesting in that it includes a integral Mortar and the ability to carry additional personal. The chassis of the Markeva family is that of the Centurion Tank. This is ironically something they have in common with the Iranian indigenous Main battle tank.
Now for the Israelis the Merkeva and it's heavyweight is fine. Remember that every war they have ever fought has been within or about there boarders, as such for them mobility is simply being able to traverse the local terrain.
This is also apparent in there use of tanks as APCs and IFVs. That mindset is being adopted by the main Russian army with there Armata armored vehicle concepts due to there recent wars being in the local regions.
The more traditional Russian tanks took there light weight from wants of speed, low profile, varied Russian terrain and ease of export.
Well designs like the Japanese Type 10 are aimed towards mobility not just across terrain but strategic mobility. The ability to deploy the tank away from the home islands in response to threats to the extended territorial range. And the French Laclarc. The same is why the Abrams is getting a weight reduction, and why I feel the US should move to develop a new medium tank and IFV family that should stress rapid response demands across the global range. Particularly of interest in that I think is the PL01 tank concept that combines a unmanned turret, remote weapons, active hard kill defense, a medium weight IFV chassis and hull, signature mitigation technologies, and sensors fusion.

Yes Merkava also has a missile round for its gun but can't all detailled ofc.

Leclerc can fire in movement up to 50 km/h the more fast maybe ?

Shells used by the best of these guns have a maximum initial velocity of 1750/1790 m by sec because this is " physical " limit permitted by the powder after for do best only electomagnetic gun but with what fire rate ?

For actual fire rate/mn i have some, Leclerc 12, K-2 15, Russian/Type 99 8, Challenger I/II 10 and many in general 8.

Leclerc use an auto fuel socket, good name in English ? there are no metal case as AUF1/155 mm do by GIAT former name/manufacturer before Nexter more easy for automatic reloads system.

Russian tanks or derivatives more lighter and more tiresome for crew less comfortable if a tank can be :D

Rate of Fire for a Rail gun would be based on rate of charge, as the round would be inert it all depends on the batteries and generator. If you had the power you could keep loading new rounds till the gun melted, but realistically hard to say.
Back in WW2 the Germans were looking into railguns for use as Flack cannons they theorised a rate of fire of 12 rounds a minute. the power requirements though meant that a single gun demanded equal to half the electrical power of Chicago.

Rheinmetall has developed an upgrade for Leopard 2 tanks to give them the ability to fire the LAHAT anti-tank guided missile through the main gun; the missile can engage targets out to a range of 6,000 metres (20,000 ft).

I really like the many options the Merkava IV has for effectors. Tank gun, missile, HMG, Mortar, organic infantry...I guess a result of the special military situation Israel finds itself in in contrast to many other countries.
Then again, such a combination will only find space in a really heavy design.

I would also like to see a tank with a RWS carrying a 40mm GMG with programmable rounds on a mount capable of high elevation. That would absolutely make sense in an urban environment, IMO. Anyone know if the 60mm mortar on the Merkava is manually operated or controlled by some kind of FCS?

Also, just as a small excersice I made this illustration with pics from the internet which I put to scale:
