"This investment projects demonstrates Micron's unwavering commitment to its China business and team," it quoted CEO Sanjay Mehrotra as saying.
Two things:
1) Micron's CEO being Indian indicates the level of rot and nepotism that would doom Micon anyhow, with or without China.
2) Consistent with 1), Micron has to be punished for its leading role in sanctioning Chinese tech companies.

President Xi is meeting Bill Gates now.

Watch the latter part of the video about Xi and Gates. Fox news is hilarious sometimes.
The Republicans' whole calculus is thinking if you deny the Chinese white people enough, they're going to collapse. Like I've said before China exists and they can't leave China alone no matter what because China's existence threatens their religious and economic narrative on how the world works. The world wanting to join BRICS sets off those alarms. Look at how they're going back to trying to itch what they can't scratch in North Korea. It should be easy to ignore North Korea but they can't and North Korea knows how to push those buttons.

, which Micron has been using in the factory since 2016, the company said.

Powertech said in a separate statement that the plan for Micron to buy the equipment was part of the 2016 agreement between the firms, so the financial impact on Powertech would be limited.

...and there it is, the loquacious Bullshitting of modern anglo corporate culture which indian immigrants excel in, especially since there seems to be something with Indo-european descendants who love prefer flowery words to practical realities.
There's a reason democracies fail in Chinese societies because if all you give are flowery BS and no results, the Chinese are going to revolt and instal someone who will provide results. In this sense, the Chinese are more freedom loving then anglo americans who are calmed by flowery BS speeches whereas Chinese want tangible results.

VinFast just opened their second dealership in the Toronto area in a tony suburb within a luxury dealership area with BMW, JLR, Lotus, Porsche

Their cars might be bad, but I really admire the moxie.

People used to make fun of BYD, calling them low-rent Toyota copies, now Toyota is buying from them.

That being said, BYD didn’t try so hard to push those half-baked Fauxyotas outside China. Time will tell
VinTrash is not comparable to any iteration of BYD in any way, shape or form.
