Useful idiots are far more preferable to treasonous pawns. Useful idiots can be relied upon to always be idiots, and so are easy to manipulate and control, and the best thing is that they cannot be easily bought or flipped, since they tend to have a astronomically inflated ego and are as stubborn as they are stupid.
Treasonous pawns are too devious and clever so are a real hassle to manage, since while their royalty cannot be bought for any price, it generally can be rented surprisingly cheaply.

Think on how much resources china can save in the long run and besides the USA wants to decouple so they shouldn’t complain. In the end, what China does it’s for its own benefit and having a win win situation is good in general but if the customer is a red neck that threatens you all the time, simply stop talking to the fool, build up security and prepare to shoot the fool when the time is right
