Never going to happenWell, if they switch sides to China, they can see a quantum leap in what they are afford while still cutting net defence spending if they stop paying idiot prices to line the pockets of US MIC oligarchs.

not a WIPO member. what IP?Chinese Taipei is a WTO member, so they probably do get IP protection, assuming they've followed the relevant procedures to protect their IP on the mainland. Of course, following the American example, any WTO rule can now be ignored in the name of national security, so any IP can be seized to protect the free flow of pineapple to Chinese consumers
Exactly right. Every day there's a dozen articles on why/how the US, UK, JP, et al should strengthen their military capabilities and none of them identify the costs or where the money would come from. Here's an exampleAgain am going to keep asking this question: how in the world are these folks going to fund all of these military requirements and with what money?
the Navy needs to start over
not just that, do they not know that 1/4 of Panama has Chinese ancestry and 68% have Native American ancestry?Fake news, would not surprise me if those were vaguely ethnic Asian looking prisoners/actors paraded around to create those images.
Do Americans even know what the average Chinese opinion of latin America is like? There is no one except triads who would willingly associate with the gangs there, and only to turn a profit, not to enter US which is very easy for Chinese to do by flight or boat. Despite tensions, US still has more or less open borders, because they let the corrupt from China into their country willingly.
In 2010 the population was 65% (mixed European and Amerindian), 12.3% Native Panamanians, 9.2% black, 6.8% mulattoes, and 6.7% white.
Most of the Chinese population reside in the province of Chiriquí. Some studies suggest that almost 1 million Panamanians have at least one Chinese ancestor.
Never going to happen
Did the DPP pay for this article? Really a big joke, typical DPP sloganeering replacing actions (Make love instead of electricity! Blackouts are fine!)all your pineapple are belong to us...
Muahahahaha!
China’s has Taiwan livid
A fresh Chinese attempt at pomological warfare.
In their quest for the perfect pineapple, Taiwan’s agricultural engineers spared no effort. They spent almost 25 years developing a variety with a mango-like fragrance.
On April 4th Taiwan’s deputy agriculture minister, Chen Junne-jih, accused China of “plundering” plant breeders’ rights after mainland media reported that Mango Pineapples were being grown in southern China. Smuggling seeds or seedlings to the mainland was “absolutely unacceptable”, he said.
In 2021, China banned all Taiwanese pineapple imports, saying they carried pests. Taiwan called that a political ploy. Soon the pineapple became a symbol of resistance against China.
Ms Tsai urged her people to “eat Taiwan’s pineapples until you burst”. Local businesses added pineapple to products ranging from beer to beef noodles. Taiwan also called on other countries to buy its “freedom pineapples”.
The province of Hainan recently reported that Taiwan's types were being grown on some 60 hectares of farmland. Taiwan has just 27 hectares of Mango Pineapple under cultivation, with production restricted to four seedling companies and three farming households.
“It’s a real disappointment. It’s very damaging for us as individuals, and as a country.”
Pineapples are valuable exports for Taiwan. China has targeted them before to put pressure on the island, which it claims. But this latest development comes at a sensitive time, with China and America stepping up preparations for a potential war over Taiwan. The self-governing island will also hold a presidential election in 2024 in which farmers are an important constituency.
Taiwan and China established a plant-patent work group in 2010, but the Chinese side stopped talking in 2016.
Xi: Elon my man, I'm sick and tired of Xinhua and Global Times and their journalists being labelled as Chinese government sponsored content on Twitter. Since you own the thing, can you be a bro and remove the tag?
Elon: Doesn't that look a bit conspicuous? Tell you what, how about we label NPR, VOA, and BBC as Government Sponsored Content instead?
Xi: Okay. Can't have everything in life I guess...
CCTV, CGTN, Xinhua, RT, Sputnik etc proudly carrying the "State-affiliated media" label on Twitter for years:

Twitter drops ‘state-affiliated’ labels
Accounts for outlets such as the BBC, Global Times, and RT are no longer labeled as government-funded media. Twitter has removed ‘state-affiliated’ and ‘government-funded’ labels from major media accounts as part of an unannounced update. The move on Friday follows a string of spats between Twitter and several news organizations over the designations.
Twitter had applied the controversial labels to numerous accounts over the last few weeks, including the BBC, Canada’s CBC, and America’s NPR. In response, several outlets threatened to leave Twitter and suspended their activity on the platform, arguing that the tags were an attempt to undermine their legitimacy or suggest a lack of editorial independence.
However, as of Friday, no labels could be seen on any of the accounts mentioned. The tag was also removed from other media outlets, including Russia’s RT and Sputnik, and China’s Global Times and Xinhua. The label was likewise absent from the accounts of journalists associated with the outlets.
Yeah, greatly dishonest American government. Imagine if China took pictures of poor central Asians and Russian migrant workers as proof of "white western poverty and illegal immigration".not just that, do they not know that 1/4 of Panama has Chinese ancestry and 68% have Native American ancestry?
they don't need to take pictures of Russians or central Asians.Yeah, greatly dishonest American government. Imagine if China took pictures of poor central Asians and Russian migrant workers as proof of "white western poverty and illegal immigration".
If you have nothing honest to say, it's better to keep your mouth shut. Doing otherwise is just spreading a culture of lying within your country, which has no long term benefits.
