The poverty elimination program is pretty successful.
It is a farce. I follow the first summit and seem like just a show for each participant nations to present some ppt slides or talks on how to improve democracy in the US. Nothing substantial other than to function as a photo session to achieve grand standing for their domestic populace.

As someone who use to organize events between our Uni's Chinese student society and the Chinese consulate let me tell you: aren't no one getting paid for such events, you're lucky to get free transport and lunch from them.
Chinese consulate is really good at getting you PRC flags in a hurry for events though, I give them that.
