Karl Rove wasn't stupid when he said this. His sentiments are repulsive and abhorrent, but they are also true. Real power is the power to create narratives, to determine what is remembered and what is forgotten. All of us here are to a greater or lesser extent outside the Washington consensus, and as such we are reminded of its pervasive reach each and every day.
Academics like to imagine that facts and truths can be uncovered through careful research and reasoning, and that moral condemnation has some import. Karl Rove knows better. Historians can discover and write whatever they like about e.g. the crimes of the American empire. The victims remain dead and their killers fattened on the spoils of their crimes. There is no reason or justice in this world, only power.

I think it's a case of japanese people thinking their honorary white status automatically translates into white privilege in 3rd world nations- you rarely see women from China or even taiwan traveling alone to the middle east, latin america or central asia let alone India of all places.

I think it's important to recognise that Iran do not have full control over its Shia proxy forces(but alot more than usual since Iran is their only backer), some of them may escalate tensions for the sole purpose of reigniting hostilities.
