Seeing Wang Yi's actions in the Munich Conference, you can clearly understand why he is such a top diplomat. And with him getting the top foreign policy position you can already see him doing real changes.
I especially like how Xi is going to make a peace proposal on Friday. Yes the US and maybe Europe won't care, but the signal towards the rest of the world is unmistakable. China is a serious and a responsible global power which is increasingly the only one which is committed to the (real) international order.
China's approach is strategically going to be two-fold. For economics, China is the champion of globalism and free trade which the Global South depends for their survival, while the West is becoming more protectionism and pulls the ladder for the rest.
On security and diplomacy matters, China is the protector of the real international order, peace promoter, national sovereignty and mutual respect, while the Global South increasingly views the US as the warmonger it is and the EU as the neocolonialist and US puppet it is.
People may dismiss these arguments as just China-stuff which nobody pays attention, but they always say this from a Western perspective. Speak to the Global South and you will find out that China's stature is increasingly becoming more prominent and its opinions widely shared.
Btw, bonus points to Wang Yi for ridiculing the US for its balloon hysteria

I say, it's about damn time. What NATO mafia and the U.S. are doing in the Asia-Pacific stirring up countries like the PH among others to coalesce against China in the SCS, and most importantly the Taiwan issue is beyond absurd.
What's good for the goose must be good for the gander. They can't be serious to be bitching and moaning, acting all indignant and righteous in light of blatant anti-China provocation not to mention gross interference in China's most important core issue which is it's sovereignty and internal issue vis-a-vis Taiwan.
If China were to simply watch Russia fail and burn in Ukraine (regardless of how one's see this conflict as either pro-Russia or pro-Ukraine/Western/NATO) are we going to pretend that China is not next on the chopping block? And if the Russian leadership becomes pro-West displacing the current leadership is that a more preferable scenario for China's development goal? or would that create a more acute environment that would not be at all conducive to peace in the whole Asian region.
IF and when the Taiwan issue is forced upon China, would these European hypocrites cite international law, respect for borders etc..or will they also participate in trying to loot China just as they have done more than a hundred years ago? Let us not be naïve, these Europeans don't like the changing world order because it's becoming clear that they no longer hold the monopoly in military power, economic power, political power, as well in science and technology. Their respective population are too busy rebelling and demanding for a bazillion genders and other crazy shit that has nothing to do with bettering the material conditions of their citizens.
China should follow and adhere to the international law it helped create and established through the establishment of the U.N. based on the millions of sacrifice forged in the fires of WWI and WWII by the blood of Chinese people. They have as much say with respect to the institutions of U.N. as the French do, British, Germans, and other Eastern loud mouth European countries who's contributions to the institution they purportedly love as beyond anemic. Unless of course some of us thinks that what the U.S. and her minions are doing in the Asia-Pacific are all fine and dandy because of the so-called "rules based order" f..k international law eh?

No, that’s not how China operates. China has consistently been about giving others more and better options than the west, rather than western mafia-style ball-grabbing as you described.
I think Putin could not have expected Western leaders to be so inept and stupid as to roll out sanctions that are almost tailor made to undermine and weaken the most pro-western Russian factions and oligarchs by freezing and seizing their ill gotten wealth stashed in western banks beyond the reach of the Russian state and law enforcement. However, once the west rolled out those sanctions, rather than dissuade Putin, they served as incentive for him to double down and keep going in Ukraine, since the west has effectively been doing his dirty work for him and cleaning house for Russia of its pro-western fifth columnists far more effectively than Putin could ever hope to do himself.
