FTX CTO and Alameda Research CEO admit fraud, pair 'cooperating' with Feds

Two members of Samuel Bankman-Fried's inner circle have pleaded guilty to defrauding equity investors in the moribund FTX cryptocurrency trading platform.
As for Wang and Ellison, the SEC contends that between 2019 and 2022, "Ellison, at the direction of Bankman-Fried, furthered the scheme by manipulating the price of FTT, an FTX-issued exchange crypto security token, by purchasing large quantities on the open market to prop up its price. FTT served as collateral for undisclosed loans by FTX of its customers' assets to Alameda, a crypto hedge fund owned by Wang and Bankman-Fried and run by Ellison. The complaint alleges that, by manipulating the price of FTT, Bankman-Fried and Ellison caused the valuation of Alameda's FTT holdings to be inflated, which in turn caused the value of collateral on Alameda's balance sheet to be overstated, and misled investors about FTX's risk exposure."
The complaint also alleges that "from at least May 2019 until November 2022, Bankman-Fried raised billions of dollars from investors by falsely touting FTX as a safe crypto asset trading platform with sophisticated risk mitigation measures to protect customer assets and by telling investors that Alameda was just another customer with no special privileges; meanwhile, Bankman-Fried and Wang improperly diverted FTX customer assets to Alameda. The complaint alleges that Ellison and Wang knew or should have known that such statements were false and misleading."

Lol seriously? Chinese people trying to escape to USA by first landing in South America?

Time to build some 'covert' Chinese police stations in Panama to catch the Chinese escaping.
This was already posted yesterday with the source as BBC, author "Mengyu Dong", another angry overseas female reporter
Now we see this Taiwan lady, who is also working for RFA

I hate to sound like those "Deep State" people, but honestly, they don't even try, just recycle the same story between outlets.

Honestly, "culling the herd" is a pretty apt description. This sounds like the most ridiculous way of trying to get into the US to "escape zero covid". Even if you get into the US, pretty much you are guaranteed to be put into their migrant concentration camps.

I remember in the 90's, there were a lot of those human smugglers with the containers with Chinese migrants inside. Now that has pretty much stopped due to improvements in livelihood and criminal crackdowns.

When the thing with the Vietnamese people dead in the truck in the UK a few years ago, you could sense there was a palpable hope in the media that the Chinese human trafficking was picking up again. Then when they turned out to be Vietnamese, it was a huge disappointment because they couldn't put out those "ESCAPING XI'S CHINA" stories that they had ready to go.

Just to add:
How ridiculous is it for two international media outlets to cover the "dozens" of Chinese out of tens of thousands of Latin Americans?

Yeap, there was massive media coverage when the news first broke and they initially suspected the dead were Chinese. But as soon as it was confirmed that they were Vietnamese, the story was dropped faster than a used condom.

The US - and the West / "white man" in general - is well-known for saying one thing and doing another. The Native Americans realized that centuries ago. That's why they have a saying "the white man speaks with a forked tongue." The public press releases are mainly for virtue signaling and propaganda. This is why you shouldn't take US press releases or media sources seriously.

Look at actions, not words.
