German court authorizes disclosure of companies that completed Nord Stream 2
BERLIN, November 25. /TASS/. Germany’s Constitutional Court upheld a decision to disclose the names of all companies that participated in completing the Nord Stream 2 pipeline, the Foundation for Climate and Environmental Protection Mecklenburg-Vorpommern said in a statement.
"Regretfully, the Federal Constitutional Court did not support our objections [regarding the case]. This is very disappointing. Despite our firm stance, we now have to disclose the names of many companies from Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. These companies were innocent and acted within the law. They trusted the regional parliament and government, who promised them protection from US sanctions," the foundation said.
The organization said that these companies will probably have to face "public criticism and economic hardships" as a result of the decision.
