The problem with the so called first world countries is that they have, for the past 60 years, lived under the illusion that food, commodity, and goods are generated by economic magic instead of the toiling third world nations. They still believe that they could go around the world, killing and sanctioning as they please without any repercussions because they are at the top of the totem pole. The past sixth months should serve to remind them that gas doesn’t come from the stove, food doesn’t grow in super market isles, and that the world is material, not ideological.

The term you are looking for is "beg-packing", where tourists (typically from the West, no offense intended) beg money from the locals to fund their travel. I have seen a few of these so-called "beg-packers" myself in Thailand and Malaysia.
