It certainly feels like US would want to do this, but if you do it in such blatant way with explosives that lead to investigations that could trace back to you it seems like it would be counterproductive.

Underwater pipes are built like tanks. Not sure how else you could sabotage them except with explosives.

So far no ones claimed responsibility. The Ukros have claimed it was a Russian attack, if that's the case surely it's grounds for triggering article 5? Either the NATO article 5 is a bluff or the Russians weren't responsible.

I think there must have been some secret agreement between Germany and Russia to export gas. Once the Americans found out they decided to put an end to it. It's possible that the American government weren't even aware of the plot, it could have been a rogue mission by the CIA.

Don't forget the visit by Comrade Scholz and Macron to China. Surely backroom talks would be made regarding Ukraine.

So yeah, US got the news that someone sketchy was going to happen and it decided to blow up the pipelines. Excellent plan, now EUpoors can do nothing but suffer silently lol

Seriously though, now there is no longer any reason for EU and Russia to stop fighting. EU will continue until complete collapse of Russia, where they could obtain Russian assets for pennies (ie during collapse of USSR) to offset their losses. And Russia will continue fighting until complete capitulation of Ukraine.

Just saw the news and I want to say that Europe have no one but themselves to blame for the catastrophic situation they are currently in, they have been given too many opportunities before and after the war to make sensible foreign policy decisions but instead they are more concerned about their "Democratic values" and "European Unity". I guess its just their destiny to get completely deindustrialized and vassalized by the US, its a good thing China didn't sign that CAI deal.
