These are powerful sanctions. They are like tactical nuclear weapons. Once used, there is no going back. US is not going to use them lightly.

As for the trade war, I think wall street (US financial elites) got what it wanted from the Phase one trade deal signed in 2020. China agreed to open up its finance and insurance industry in the first phase agreement. China promised to remove foreign equity caps for US financial service firms.

So in your opinion China has lost already? or might as well surrender or something because from what you've explained it looks like China is about to get nuked and nuked hard. CPC should just fold and go home, why bother huh

This is ridiculous. British monarchy is supposed to be a symbolical monarchy. Bad enough you can get arrested in UK to question or protest against it during this time. But this is Australia and she is an aboriginal person, native to the land. Her ancestors have suffered from British colonialism and she can't even make a critical comment on the queen online? Where is the freedom in that?

Remember people like Pelosi and too many others to list act against China all the time yet have huge business interests in China.

Simanan is just a small time pundit, and his anti-US "acts" are basically firing his mouth cannon. I'm not sure there's been a big hit to his credibility. One common view is that there is nothing wrong with him owning US real estate as long as the transaction did not violate any Chinese or US law.
From my personal experience, Chinese are less tolerant of hypocritical politicians and media pundits. Si has significant influence/support among the leftists in china especially when he spread-headed the call to investigate Lenovo founder earlier this year. Owning a house in US certainly makes his critical views of US less believable.

No China has not lost. CCP members owning extravagant assets in the west is a major weakness that I believe US could very well weaponize when push comes to shove. Hence I support Xi's corruption crackdown. But I worry he might face too much resistance when it comes rooting out potential corruption among families of CCP elders and his allies.

That's the reason South Korea cannot afford to choose sides. A very clear-eyed view from a South Korean commentator:
There is no doubt that China will overtake the U.S. and become the biggest global market around 2030. We should also admit the reality that there is no partner to replace China in building a stable supply chain for future industries.

Wow, so US isn't satisfied in sacrificing Europe for just the war in Ukraine. They want to finish their European pawns off by forcing them to start a trade war with China
While "Precrime", as depicted in the movie Minority Report, remains fiction, now we have "Presanction". So what's the incentive for China to avoid military action over the Taiwan Strait? None whatsoever from now on - such idiotic policy will only encourage China to prepare for the worst.

If a weak China is so dangerous, why argue for containing China? Such book is just disingenuous.

How Western media distort China's energy policies:

Trump is a closet communist?

Is Lenovo founder Chinese or American? Calling to investigate Lenovo founder is part of Simanan being critical of the US?

Anyways, you referring to Simanan as "Si" says enough.

My Lenovo example was to show his influence on Chinese internet.

There are accusations against Lenovo founder Liu Chuanzhi of wrongdoings when managing the company. Liu allegedly participated in deals that involving improper transfer of state assets. Simanan leading and rallying Chinese netizens to call for an investigation of Liu is a sign of his influence. Hence he is not some small time pundit like you suggested.
