In agrarian societies power wore only one mask. Now (1991/2000-) in the West it is much more elaborated how the scribes justify the gods of the Palace and it seems very different to be in the end more or less the same as in the time of the Pharaoh of Egypt.
Consider, for example, the case of Pat Buchanan. He appeared in the Main Street Media when he served as a counterpoint as the perfect troglodyte seen from the gay community. But when Pat Buchanan started talking about the imperial wars ... he disappeared from the media. Tabu. Ostracism.
Curiously, it was precisely a gay man from San Francisco who was Pat Buchanan most ardent supporter:
