Singapore looks after its interest first and foremost, and try not to alienate anybody, especially not the sole world hegemon.China has no issue with who Singapore chooses to trade with. But the main gripe is military - Singapore allowing her naval base to be use by US warships and airbase to be used by Australian submarine chasers to fly all over South China Sea.
Singapore has the right to do what it takes to ensure her national security. But Singapore has no right to ensure her own security at the detriment of another country's security, especially when that country is not an adversary to Singapore.
Singapore looks after its interest first and foremost, and try not to alienate anybody, especially not the sole world hegemon.
Notwithstanding it being detrimental to anybody.
Imagine the disaster that will befall resource void Singapore if the US targets us for sanctions.
Singapore had been in an alliance with the US since 1971, long before the present Sino-US hostilities.
"
The Five Power Defence Arrangements (FPDA), is a series of bilateral defence relationships established by a series of multi-lateral agreements between Australia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, and the United Kingdom – all Commonwealth members, with the first four once belonging to the British Empire.
Signed in 1971, the FPDA consists of the five powers consulting each other "immediately" in the event or threat of an armed attack on any of the FDPA members for the purpose of deciding what measures should be taken jointly or separately in response. "

Why would Singapore want to take sides? Not trying to put words in your mouth. But what you are saying is that Singapore has decided to choose side (?).
Why would Singapore want to take sides?
My reply was in response to those who don't understand why the US have military base in Singapore.
We are in an defence alliance that includes the US since 1971, but Singapore is not an ally of the US.
We don't mind the super powers showering us with goodies while competing for our support, though.

SINGAPORE - It will not be possible for Singapore to choose between the United States and China, given the extensive ties the Republic has with both superpowers, said Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on Sunday (March 14).

That was just another way of saying "we lie, cheat and steal" in 40 minute fashion. It was all double speak. One part "we never wanted to change china" , another part "we gonna force change to china by changing the environment." Must be some sorta propaganda speech technique.Don't know when the liberals in China finally wakes up and understand that there is no better days ahead. It is a showdown and a full fledged rivalry.
@supersnoop bro thanks for the explanation, I'm not a military guy BUT an enthusiast and most western MSM reports are adverts for the MIC. My criticism IF use to fight a peer or modern adversary then it will become an easy target. IF the Ukrainian received it beforehand then it may inflicted some serious casualties to the Russian BUT overall war impact is minimal.
