I can provide testimony for the second half of that: I have a close friend studying in Moscow, an ethnic Chinese with a very typical East Asian appearance. He has gotten nothing but respect from Russians, especially when he introduces himself as Kitaiski — they are less kind when he introduces himself by his legal citizenship. The only discriminatory incidents he encountered were ironically from minority peoples like Buryats and Uzbeks!

It sounds like there are even more provocateurs coming here to spread anti-Russian sentiments among overseas Chinese again.

Russia is moving towards full fledged import substitution and this is reflected in trade surpluses and policies.
Only Arabs have the airline industry and hard currency that deliver every thing even during Covid restrictions and frozen assets.

Russia said they are the largest maker of fighter engines and military export portfolio is now $75bn.
military products are strength in Robotics and material science.

Putin said Russia must adopt traditional values and after that big Arabic design houses join it to display that traditional values. see the difference before and after with and without Royal participation in Kazan. They are not sparing any one. its AI+Soft Power.

Da, da, you bring back fond memories from Kazakhstan when I have answered, "Kitayski" many times to those asking, "Where you from?" and gotten nothing back but positivity from Kazakhs and Russians alike. I love this word and the way it sounds, and interestingly, it was not taught to me by anyone but I learned it from the full name of the Su-30MKK.

During 1962, the USSR was one of the main parties that stopped China advancing further into India. They also suggested crap like letting India in SCO and BRICS to be counterweight to China.

While China is supposed to support Russia, it's support is not unconditional. Remember China and the USSR were enemies in the cold war and China was the one who remained standing at the end. There was a lot of territory dispute in the north back then. And Russia kept insisting on ordering China around.

China had no choice back then coz it didn't have the power so it just sucked it up. But times are different now and Russia is in no position to dictate terms. If it wants to get scammed again by India, it's welcome to do so but please leave china out of it!

They have been doing precisely that since before the USSR fell, and that’s why for the longest time the whole west had such an overwhelmingly negative view towards China.

Only problem is that those dirty tricks don’t work against China anymore because of the growth of Chinese hard power, making China indispensable economically and industrially, while also far too powerful militarily for the west to maintain any remaining delusions of it being able to rob and loot modern China as they did the Qing when they couldn’t win at trade.

The western ruling class has already developed their hard counter to this: if they make the overwhelming majority of their subjects too poor to go to China, then they don’t need to worry about them getting funny ideas about efficient, responsible and fair governance and markets back home.

Full-scale import substitution sounds funny, considering that Russia was only able to return to the electronics market thanks to machine tools written off from China—as an example from Russian state media.

Meanwhile, Russians, considering themselves a superior race, mock Chinese cars.

Secondly, the Russian economy is in a profound crisis, as evidenced by their infrastructure projects, plans for science and space exploration, and also in their electronics industry. One of Russia's largest IT players, Yandex, produces nothing in Russia, but orders everything ready-made from China, using Chinese standards, designs, and templates. This doesn't align with your teikomtsov import substitution.
