I can provide testimony for the second half of that: I have a close friend studying in Moscow, an ethnic Chinese with a very typical East Asian appearance. He has gotten nothing but respect from Russians, especially when he introduces himself as Kitaiski — they are less kind when he introduces himself by his legal citizenship. The only discriminatory incidents he encountered were ironically from minority peoples like Buryats and Uzbeks! My experience with Russians does not fit your narrative. I have met them in America and Kazakhstan. I have never been to Russia
It sounds like there are even more provocateurs coming here to spread anti-Russian sentiments among overseas Chinese again.
