There just as much as a liability because they're the most cosmopolitan/cucks/pro west people in the entire mainland and usally are aligned with West rather than China therefore would have the capacity to undermine the country afterall HKers prove that pro western leanings will be used to harm China and HK riots were not that long ago. They would be an issue if armed unification would break out as the would undermine Chinese nationalism like back in the 1920s.

The "new" Shanghai residents are people from outside the city, a large portion from Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Jiangxi, etc. and are not invested in a Shanghai local identity. They're the ones who actually do work and are much more normal.

1. 40 countries don't count as a superpower; that term is reserved for a single country. The fact that you add them together already shows that you understand America's hard power is absolutely insufficient to contend with China's.

2. Nominal GDP is not a reliable indicator of power; before China was attacked by the West, it had 25% of the world's GDP. We made silk while they made cannons. China has the largest GDP by PPP of any counry by heads and shoulders and China's GDP is based on technology and manufacturing, which are both real and absolute. The Western empire's GDP is based on finance, which is a ponzi scheme based on trust.

3. If the term superpower was used to describe absolute hard power, then China is a rising defensive superpower while the US is a waning offensive superpower because its military power projection is the last thing that is superior to China with all other aspects now increasingly lagging. If the term superpower is used only to describe a malignant country that has great power and uses it to subjugate weaker countries around the world, then the US is the only superpower.

For the most part because there is still the petrodollar that needs to be bypassed but China can just do nothing because the US is shooting themselves in the foot by getting the strait of hormuz to close thus cutting oil access with the opertunity for Chinese EVs to take over if Tesla dosen't act first.

I am adding them together because they are one in every way that counts. They have pretty much one culture, and world view. The so called european culture pervades along with american culture. Its pretty much one mono culture.

And most importantly they have one single world view that they should be the dominant power and every thing they do is to maintain that dominance.

They have one single history that starts from the greeks then to romans and then european renessance. It is taught in school in every single of these countries.

They have one single foreign policy. One single military alliance. They are aligned in every way when it comes to foreign policy and defense.

If US considers
Some countries as enemies, all of them do the same and the media propaganda follows.

There is no actual difference between them that can separate them.

Can China honestly think if there is a war with US then the rest will not support? Ofcourse they will and there will be guaranteed economic sanction and likely military support for sure.

So, there you have it. One single empire dominating the world.

China is a distant challenger against this empire. But its is still far away from being an equal.
