No, not really. Mughal elite spoke Turkic down to the very last emperor who was exiled by the British, and continued to identify with their foreign tribes (and still do today, i.e. Tarkhan clan). Hinduism, on the other hand, was adopted by local native Indians. Local indian cannot be Mughal.

Like even though they have so many gods, apparently what gods the North pray to was different from the ones the south pray to. Same as east and west. However after the brits came, each area suddenly found themselves needing to pray to these new guys they never did before because they were now added to the pantheon. Even today there clearly are preferences and priorities for certain gods depending on the area you are in India.
