The main growth drivers of the US Economy.

AI Datacenter Slop and Gambling.

Is anyone surprised that gambling is one of the main drivers? Every other ad online/tv/bus stops is some online casino or sportsbook.

Yes of course there are Americans trying to speak for Canadians but the right-wing Canadian politicians talk like that too.
There’s very few American style right wing politicians in Canada. Most Canadian conservatives are so-called “small-c conservatives” in the Canadian parlance. Basically they are concerned primarily with fiscal responsibility rather than social matters. The current PM from the Liberal party was put into power by appealing to these people. It is reflected by his comments to reporters saying that he deals with the world as it is, not how he wants it to be. The Liberal party in Canada is less like the current Democrats in the US, but more like a party of RINOs (right-centre). With that in mind, it basically leaves the hard right on the outside and are coincidentally the loudest too.

For the same reason why many Chinese are keen on emigrating overseas, better pay and more opportunities. People move where there are better conditions. Otherwise we would all be living in East Africa.

Why are Indians like yourself very defensive and arrogant when the topic involves anything Chinese or China?

You folks love to indulge in hard-power fantasies where you and your hardline nationalists think and convince yourselves that your country is already at par—if not ahead—of China in key important metrics of success defined by the West: procedural democracy vs. actual functioning democracy.

Not to mention that India and its hardliners are convinced that Tibet and other Chinese territories belong to India—a pathetic attempt to justify and create an imaginary history of the Bharat empire. A country or set of kingdoms prone to and easily invaded by foreign powers throughout much of its entire history has no business claiming non-existent greatness!!

The fact that your 'educated' elites and moneyed factions love doing business and settling in Western countries—to the detriment of what India is trying to achieve—is nothing but comical and tragic at the same time.

There's simply no comparison between China and India aside from the size and heft of their respective populations and ancient histories—the similarities end there.

China rose from the ashes of its nadir to its current status, made possible by a political entity and governance system without precedent. Yet it is ironically attacked and maligned in every way possible. Success breeds contempt and envy. If the Chinese governing party and system were actually rotten to the core—as many naysayers claim, chief among them Indians—we wouldn't be having this breathless and thankless discussion and debate from yet another user from India, now would we?

This is not data. This just says students returned to China. Students who never worked so they didn‘t have an income to sacrifice. You need to back up your claim with actual data. Otherwise it‘s meaningless.
In 2019, according to official data from China's Ministry of Education (MOE), 580,300 Chinese students and scholars returned home after completing their overseas studies. A marked increase of 60,900 (or 11.73%) compared to 2018, continuing the strong upward trend in return migration at that time.

Key Cumulative Context for 2019
From 1978 to 2019: A total of 6.56 million Chinese nationals had studied abroad.

By the end of 2019: 4.90 million had completed their studies, of which 4.23 million (approximately 86.28%) chose to return to China.
  • This high overall return rate (often cited around 86–90% for completers in recent decades) underscores why annual returnee numbers were robust even before the post-2020 surge.

Degree Level: Returnees typically included a significant portion with advanced degrees (master's and PhD), as higher-level studies abroad were common. For context from nearby years (e.g., 2017–2018 data), a notable share (around 40–50% in some cohorts) held master's or doctoral qualifications, with many in high-skilled fields.

Europe whining about how China gave the West a taste of its own medicine… a taste of how they control others. The difference is the West had to colonize and steal other people’s resources in order to deny to gain leverage. As they complain about China today, China outbids them to buy the resources they need from around the world meaning China is paying the world what the West never did.
