Actually I am seeing an awful lot of X posts along the lines of Canada should cease trying to repair relations with China and reach some accomodation with Trump's US, even to the extent of being annexed. I cannot beleive these are coming from real Canadians, in the main. My general feeling is that most actual Canadians would really like to tell the US and Trump where to shove it. Which got me wondering to what extent discourse on X on any controversial topic is dominated by bots?
The thing about the nations of the five eyes is that because they acquired their territories via genocide, they had to erase the shame by forgetting who their origins and try to create a new nation, simply by virtue of their ethnicity, you see this in Australia which constantly fears being “taken over by china” and being “swamped by Asians“ and they identify more with America rather than the state of Australia itself. Tony Abbott, a former prime minister is now a UK government official and many former Australian prime ministers go on to work in U.S. think tanks like Rudd and ScoMo. Effectively, white Anglo supremacy becomes the de facto culture hence why so many Americans are confused why Nordic nations like Denmark would actually fight and die for Greenland over US citizenship.
Going further, it explains why the Five Eyes is a thing And why it’s a purely Anglo organisation and how France and Germany Could never joing despite their best efforts. This is why a European who moves to these five eyes nations must necessarily castrate themselves from their ancestral lands in Europe, how many midwesterners still speak Norwegian or Swedish or German? They all speak English, and adopt anglo individualistic capitalist values. There is no lagom in Minnesota, definitely no Jantelovan in the midwest, but those concepts still exist in the Nordics. To be American is to become Anglo, look at Trump, German ancestry but for intents and purposes he is Anglo through and through, hes never spoken German nor practiced German cultural beliefs. In America, he is Anglo.
