We've seen this move already when EU tried it back when China was part of the Galileo satnav program. It didn't end well for the EU last time around either.
It’s desperation, they know they Fkd up hard with the Nexperia thing and need to desperately stop their own companies from shutting up shop and moving everything to China to get access to REE and thereby remain viable as businesses. Not to mention they desperately need Chinese investment into eurozone entities if not European debt which is once again doubtful after the nexperia theft.
Remind me again why China even needs Europe's goodwill? If they're willing to commit economic suicide for American interests in peacetime, what do you think they're gonna do when things go hot?

btw im very sick of hearing this, how about some concrete moves instead of always talking. Even the US can find a way to completely stop us from buying cheap Russian oil, there is no way we cannot deal with Japan. Start with rare earths ban to anyone trading with Japan.
