This is capitalism; where profits matter above all and who cares if a big chunk of the population is impoverished. This is how you get rebel armies springing up or pirates.
happily I see that US automakers are also similarly affected. If there’s one takeaway from all of this, it is that Dutch industry must die. EU investment environment is now Indian grade. It remains to be seen what the Europeans will do to resolve this.

Can Nexperia's fabs contract out the packaging to other companies in other countries?
Of course they could. Malaysia has a lot of packaging capacity as does Taiwan.
But it would require certification. Remember these are automotive grade components.
China could simply say to Malaysia to not recognize Dutch Nexperia as the legal owner of the company.
China could take this extra territorial and use RE exports controls to ensure that either EU industry dies or Dutch Nexperia dies, or they return it back (+ damages)
