Russia is helping train China’s paratroopers, leaked files show

Does it even make sense for China to buy Russian equipment in 2025??!
Sounds like the time when they were running with the headline that China would purchase the Ka-52K for their LHDs more than 4 years ago and till now there is not even a shadow of the heli.

But if hypothetically the deal is true, I guess the value would be:
-Looking into the low velocity and lightweight 125mm gun of the Sprut.
-Another point of reference for future airborne vehicle development.
- Real world experience in operating in UAV heavy environments.
-PLAAF hasn't executed a real airborne assault, and any experience even coming from Russia's VDV, which is more like another land unit these days, is still valuable as no other country friendly with China can still teach this skill.

Talks but no progress for India w.r.t. US tariffs.

The visit, from Monday to Wednesday, marked the first high-level trade delegation visit by India to the US since Trump imposed punitive tariffs against New Delhi in August to help “

The failure to reach any agreement with Washington has

Its funny that people keep saying that TikTok was a tool of Chinese soft power, when China was always hands off on the app and never used it to promote Chinese propaganda. The only soft power was perhaps signalling China's ascendancy into tech superpower status, but China has so many other succesful ventures nowadays a single app isn't going to tip the scale.

On the other hand, if the sale really does go through Trump has supposedly vowed to, surprise surprise, tweak the algorithim to make TikTok a MAGA propaganda echo chamber.

Sidenote I made a prediction on this a few weeks ago, but really anyone following the news even casually would know he was going to do it anyway. And imo, if Trump wants to keep radicalizing his base and dividing America, I'm all for China helping him in that goal

cross training between allies is always a good thing but this article reads like western cope after the Chinese military parade finally convinced western elites that a war with China would be stimulus for American and western coffins and flags to drape them.

In fact western insecurity over their supposed white western supremacy and western chauvinism is evident in how they try to erase chinas message at the UN, of cooperation and even bringing moon rocks from the dark side of the moon as gifts for humanity.

trump doesn’t realise the precedent he’s just set, now all countries of the world can force Facebook, meta, twitter etc to localise due to “national security”. How the CIA gonna do their colour revolutions with national security agencies having a kill switch and influence rooms inside every social media organisation?

More pointedly, under this precedent, why shouldn’t the CPC force nvidia To nationalise its operations in Chinak to have a CPC member monitoring board meetings?

Hindsight is 20/20. Jake Sullivan thought the US had the high ground when Biden weaponized trade and now it's backfired on the US. They're lucky that Republicans were on board too because Democrats would be blamed for America's downfall for that policy if they weren't so open about wanting that too. And just like Europe found out that calling for decoupling with China would be disastrous for their economies because it would mean China would decouple with them as well, they still want China buying from them because they need the money. They're just trying figure out how they can still make it where China doesn't get anything while they get everything they want. So it's not the West thinking about how everyone wins.

Trump is going to have to make a real deal with China but Trump being Trump, can anyone trust him? Look at how he wants Europe to slap a 100% tariff on China. For a guy who likes reciprocal tariffs, he thinks China can't punish the US too? He thinks China can't go back and ban rare earths China banned before because he retracted his previous 245% from earlier in a truce? See how these childish barbarians think? And look at Europe thinking they think they can get China to believe their sanctions on China are deserved for being bad while China's retaliation is unfair and undeserved. They don't seem to they deserve consequences to their actions.

Right now it's a race between the US and US allies. One is going to be the winner and prospers and the other the loser and it's going to be decided on who wins China on their side. Trump is very capable of backstabbing its allies to get the deal of the century with China. Europe could've heeled Trump and the US if they just didn't go along with him during the first term and whole-heartedly with Biden and they might've had the leverage to get a good economic deal for themselves with China. Then you have Japan and South Korea... They're blinded by their nationalism choosing to stay with a sinking ship. Jake Sullivan and Biden already got US allies together during his term and it didn't work. It's definitely not going to work with Trump.

Documentary by CNA about the "Dunki Route". The road where Indian illegal migrants take to go to America.

Predominantly young Indian men from the Northern Indian states pay hefty fees to human traffickers for the arrangements. $70k-90k for the air route, $35k for the jungle route through South America. Those who take the jungle route risk their lives trekking through the dangerous jungles of South America. Then when they arrive to the great USA, they are on their own, facing potential capture by ICE.

So ostensibly, India is this great "4th largest" economy. This Supapowar is apparently richer than Japan. But hundreds of thousands of young men are trying escape illegally abroad for a better life. They would rather go through crippling debt and danger to live their "American Dream". Something is just not adding up.
