1. I don't think the Koreans were arrogant. They were forced to do this; they know they are weak. They did this likely for simplicity and speed and they didn't expect they'd get slapped by the US for helping the US.How come these arrogant South Koreans did not even apply for a work visa? They probably came to the US on a tourist visa instead, thinking they can get away with it, as an important trusted ally.
2. They should be arrogant. As teams sent to help a nation with its EV and shipbuilding industry, they should be honored and treated like revered teachers. Americans should have teams catering to their needs from the moment they step off the plane to the moment they go back and each should be offered a complimentary greencard and perhaps tax free real estate too. You couldn't beg or pay countries to send teachers to your nation to build up your critical national industries so they should be expected to be treated like royalty. Asians kneel in front of a master's house in rain and snow hoping to be accepted as an apprentice for such a life-changing skill and they treat these masters like their own fathers for the rest of their lives. America treating these people like criminals is America losing its mind. It didn't just shoot iself in the foot with a gun; America put its head in a bazooka and went through great trouble to reach the fire trigger with its big toe.
I'm sorry, there may be some misunderstanding you can clear up. South Korea got arm-twisted into sending teams of trained professionals into the US to help boost the US car manufacturing industry so the US sent ICE to arrested them like criminals. And your reaction to this is that now it's our turn and China should have BYD/CATL invest in the US? That couldn't be what you meant to say. What did you mean to say? Now, BYD or CATL should move in.
