Hey hey, no one say Karen can't be "patriot". People always say Chinese is loud and rude in public but they forgot Korean(especially arrogant one) is even louder and treat others like they own the Earth. I highly positive is some Karen see those SKorean behaviour in public and thought: sh*t it must be Kim fanatics spy. Let report to police.

She probably thought that they were Chinese spies.

How come these arrogant South Koreans did not even apply for a work visa? They probably came to the US on a tourist visa instead, thinking they can get away with it, as an important trusted ally.
1. I don't think the Koreans were arrogant. They were forced to do this; they know they are weak. They did this likely for simplicity and speed and they didn't expect they'd get slapped by the US for helping the US.

2. They should be arrogant. As teams sent to help a nation with its EV and shipbuilding industry, they should be honored and treated like revered teachers. Americans should have teams catering to their needs from the moment they step off the plane to the moment they go back and each should be offered a complimentary greencard and perhaps tax free real estate too. You couldn't beg or pay countries to send teachers to your nation to build up your critical national industries so they should be expected to be treated like royalty. Asians kneel in front of a master's house in rain and snow hoping to be accepted as an apprentice for such a life-changing skill and they treat these masters like their own fathers for the rest of their lives. America treating these people like criminals is America losing its mind. It didn't just shoot iself in the foot with a gun; America put its head in a bazooka and went through great trouble to reach the fire trigger with its big toe.
Now, BYD or CATL should move in.
I'm sorry, there may be some misunderstanding you can clear up. South Korea got arm-twisted into sending teams of trained professionals into the US to help boost the US car manufacturing industry so the US sent ICE to arrested them like criminals. And your reaction to this is that now it's our turn and China should have BYD/CATL invest in the US? That couldn't be what you meant to say. What did you mean to say?

China reviews trade law update as tariff barriers rise

BEIJING, Sept 8 (Reuters) - China's top legislative body on Monday began reviewing the first revision in more than two decades of the country's foreign trade law, as Beijing seeks to give legal backing to countermeasures it can take in a trade conflict.

The revision would strengthen China's trade countermeasures, allowing trade bans or restrictions on foreign individuals or organisations deemed a danger to China's sovereignty or security, the official Xinhua news agency reported.

The draft also outlines the establishment of a "trade adjustment assistance" system and measures to stabilise supply chains, the report said.

The revision, the first since April 2004, was expected this year, but its deliberation had not appeared in the agenda for a scheduled meeting of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress this week.

China's commerce ministry had previously mentioned that "other necessary measures" beyond trade bans and restrictions could be taken, without providing details.

Such open-ended language allows for a vast range of countermeasures deployed in the past, including export controls and investigations into foreign companies.

It was unclear if the revision would be passed this week. Bills, revisions and amendments typically require three readings by lawmakers.

The rise of global trade barriers since Donald Trump's return to the U.S. presidency has exacerbated challenges for China's export-driven economy, with the imposition of sweeping duties on imports of Chinese products setting off months of tit-for-tat tariff escalations.

Washington and Beijing in August extended a truce for 90 days, staving off even higher duties.

Meanwhile, China last week announced initial anti-dumping duties on pork imports from the European Union, deepening trade tensions that spiked when the bloc imposed tariffs on China-made electric vehicles. Mexico is also considering tariffs on Chinese products.

China's export growth slowed to a six-month low in August, as a boost from the tariff truce with the U.S. faded.
The revision, the first since April 2004,

Spain's Rota air force and naval base is a major logistical hub of US military operations in the Mediterranean and Middle East. Although, damage is already done and US still has major bases in Sicily and Chania (Mediterranean Greek island), Rota was at the Mediterranean-Atlantic choke point of Strait of Gibraltar.

After the damage is done and Gaza is no longer habitable, Western governments are becoming sympathetic to Palestine (to pacify their domestic unrest).

+2000km away from Israel this international aid boat was,
This more displeasure from Europe about weak Israeli support for Ukraine. since German government essentially coward they use other bankrupt countries like France or countries with less exposure to US market. Ukraine is expensive parasite on Germany. Zelenski can blame every one but not Israel and Royals.
if Europe further goes this path than US has very favorable deals on table. Putin is encouraging Trump to move further North to annex Canada. Just read Putin Valdivostok speech. This project that was 15 years ago for $500b Russia is doing itself for $150b. (imagine cost blow out if US involved) and Russia is offering this technical help to US to develop all the North. Imagine how US will treat countries like India, South Korea and Japan if it has real tech alliance with Russia.

Imagine being a South Korean right now, your country is a colony of America, your armed forces are under the control of America, your president just went to America to beg for a trade deal and promised to invest hundreds of billions

What do you get in return? An open humiliation with hundreds of your people chained and locked up

It's no wonder they have the highest rate of incels and mental issues. All their nationalism and hate against other asians is just a coping mechanism for their national humiliation.

are the losses counted into india's gdp?

In practical terms, what is happening here, the scamming is a crime, it is fraud.

It would be very hard to justify the proceeds of criminal activity to be GDP, although we can make a case for that.

Take for instance, the narcotics trade. There is a supplier, perhaps that is an importer, then wholesale kingpins, then middle range dealers, then the street corner which is retail that gives people in the hood some jobs.

That is all economic activity, but I do not believe the US government would count that as part of GDP. No one is going to fill out a survey if the government sent them one, or see any tax records or banking information.

Now this is India we are discussing, so who knows? I still would think, no.

:D

This is not arrogant. South Koreans don't need a Visa to stay for 90 days in the US even for business. Of course there are a myriad of rules to follow, but if the expectation is to leave within that window, no company wants to pay lawyers $500/hr to do immigration consulting for a 6 week job. Now probably there are some delays in the project because that's how things are, now they overstayed that 90 days. It becomes an easy target. Basically like setting a speed camera to catch people going 1 km/h over the speed limit vs. 10 (or whatever the American non metric equivalent is)

They can stay for 90 days as tourists. Koreans who want to work in the US need to apply for a work visa. So they lied to immigration at the airport, when asked about their intention of coming to the US.

For 40 years, the Western discourse on China has remained the same: contempt.
1980–2000: When China focused on manufacturing, we heard "poor country, cheap labor, they'll never go far."
2000–2020: When it achieved 10+% annual growth, it was "yes, but they only make low-end products, copied from the West, it's not reliable."
2020–2025: When it opened up to tourism and domestic consumption, it was reduced to "everything is subsidized by Beijing, that's not real life."
Today: when it showed off its modern military arsenal, it was still "anyway, it's never been tested in combat, it's worthless." »
Always the same old refrain: changing the angle to denigrate despite the evidence that China is advancing at an unprecedented speed and reaching technological maturity. How much longer will you deny reality instead of seeking to cooperate with China as an equal partner?

This is someone's comment on the video that I translated from French using Google Translate. I agree with this statement.

The reason why they are doing this is because otherwise the West would have to acknowledge the inferiority of their own political and economic systems.

If you give acknowledgement to the fact that others are progressing faster than you are without reserve then you are also acknowledging that the political and economic system of the otherside is superior to your own.

And the West will never ever do that. Unfortunately for the West pride comes before the fall.
