Why would South Koreans waved their flag in China of all places?

The mountain is also sacred to Koreans, its their version of Jerusalem/Mecca. They believe it to be the birthplace of the Korean people. This is why NK claims Kim Il Sung was born on the slopes of the mountain.
The Jurchens/Manchu also consider the mountain sacred and the birthplace of their people as well.
Unfortunate news coming from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia where a freak accident happened at a theme park ride snapping as it was swinging up then one of the beam snapped. According to a local, no fatalities have been reported but there are 3 injuries, 2 of whom are in a coma and the 3rd person had her leg amputated
At least Kim really once fight Japanese there tho. No single credit from south side.
The southern government were and are literally former collaborators and their descendants respectively.

Changbaishan is known as 白头山, Baekdusan in Korean. In Korean origins myth Baekdusan is where the Korean people originated. In modern times Changbaishan is split territorially between PRC and DPRK.
ROK ultranationalists want to claim the whole of Changbaishan (and of course as much as they can on the China side of that mountain) and periodically make trouble over and in Changbaishan.
They are just switching to their shell companies for purchasing oil, just like what they attempted to do for Chinese rare earths. At most US could do is slap them on the wrist.
