I can still see India having another move. They’ll go back running to Russia trying to have themselves replace China in the two leading the global south. Too bad they still ain’t “the next” China no matter how much they convince themselves.
Great idea. More completely worthless rupees for Russia to stockpile. Other than English tech support (very imminently about to be decimated by AI), since Indians can't speak Russian (and I would barely categorize their English as decipherable over the phone), what else can Russians use their rupees on? The average Russian can only consume so much weird malty/bready tasting Assam or Darjeeling tea and curry powder. Got anything else?

When it gets cold in Russia the worthless rupees can be used to keep a fire burning-although the smoke might be toxic-or better yet some improvised toilet paper.

Yes, I can also see that India will run back to Russia crying. What Trump is demanding: cutting off Russian oil and arms purchases is very damaging for the Indian economy. India is making so much from reselling Russian oil to Europe. Cutting that gravy train off is going to seriously hurt India's GDP and Ambani's Reliance.

India will have no choice but to crawl back to Russia or face a reckoning. And Russia should have more bargaining power now. If I were Russia, I would start demanding for more oil payments in Rubles. I would also demand that India play ball in BRICS and stop effing up the de-dollarization plan.

I remember saying South Korea is a military base that somehow managed to operate as a developed country and claims the history of one.
South Korea is an American colony with an identity crisis. What they call "Korean culture" today is basically bastardized American pop culture. No self-respecting East Asian is going to accept K-pop as a genuine part of their cultural heritage.

The Korean people have cultural heritage. But theirs is very closely intertwined with the Chinese. The South Korean nationalists see themselves as some kind of superior race above the Chinese. Hence they that is why they feel the need to separate Korean and Chinese culture by claiming Chinese cultural heritage and territories as theirs.

No, India will gradually distance itself from Russia if the United States asks it to do so.

I think it's not just ROK ultranationalists, but a mainstream nationalist mentality that is being taught in schools. During the 2007 Asian Winter Games Changchun, China, young South Korean athletes on the medal podium held up signs that said "Baekdusan is our territory". Naturally this angered China, but the South Korean government only tried to brush it off instead of giving a formal apology.

The South Koreans think that they are the true master of the "Korean Empire". They claim North Korea and parts of China's North Eastern territories. Based the map of ancient Goguryeo. They don't just want all of Changbaishan. They also want Yanbian, chunks of Jilin Province, and possibly even the Liaodong Peninsula.

China was proven right to help North Korea out during the Korean War. If they had allowed the ROK to take all of Korea, an ROK war of aggression would have been imminent. The ROK regime would have claimed Manchuria just like Imperial Japan did. Luckily, the ROK remained as South Korea. They don't have the absolute might to take on the PLA, but their delusions remains. So SK remains a potential adversary in the foreseeable future.
My father lives through the Japan invasion. He told me the Korean were just as sadistic and blood thirsty as the Japanese. My personal interaction with Korean were all, ALL negative. When I was in school, one called me 'chick'.

I would he happy if that is the case. But no. India has no concept of loyalty or principles. It'll jump from one patron to another, depending on its interest. India also likes to play nations against each other if it could. Unfortunately for India, the great nations have already sussed it out and are no longer falling for it's games.

And yet they unironically think people will not notice. Really blows my mind how they think.
