I wonder if the EU is planning to tie its anchor to that of the US. They badly miscalculated on Russia and they're declining even faster than the US. That 5% pledge towards military spending is the height of insanity. Once upon a time I thought that their rhetoric on social rights and international law came from a place of principle but it's clear that it was just cover for horrible ideas. I never thought of that. People did say for all of Trump's authoritarian tendencies, he had not yet crossed the line into straight Fascism since he still lacked an enforcement wing completely loyal to him. I guess that's exactly what ICE is going to be and why it seems like the barrier to entry will be so low.
Since unlike regular LEO's, I doubt ICE officers are going to undergo much training especially with that salary. Any neckbeard or back of the woods redneck using enough racial slurs in their interview will qualify.
