China is too benevolent. The more China try to be benevolent, the more disrespect they get. Just look at the Song dynasty. Tried to act like Big Brother to Jin and Liao and what did they receive beside all the bullying? In international politics, respect is based on only one thing: Fear.
I beg to disagree brother, with today international climate being benevolent is a big plus cause China can be seen as a better alternative system compare to the collective west.

The Buddhist Association of China on Thursday issued a statement on the recent claims of the 14th Dalai Lama regarding his reincarnation. The following is the full text of the statement:

The 14th Dalai Lama recently released the so-called "Statement Affirming the Continuation of the Institution of Dalai Lama," once again violating the precepts and making false claims regarding his own reincarnation.

Starting from the 5th Dalai Lama, all successive Dalai Lamas have been conferred by the central government, which is the source of the religious status and historical legitimacy of Dalai Lama's title.

The central government has the right to make the final decision on the reincarnation, which is by no means subject to the 14th Dalai Lama's individual discretion.

Throughout the historical process of the searches for the spiritual successors of Dalai Lamas, a complete set of traditional religious rituals and historical conventions has been developed.

Since the establishment of the lot-drawing ceremony from the golden urn, the reincarnation of the Dalai Lama has required adherence to the "drawing lots from the golden urn" procedure, with the selected candidate subject to approval by China's central government. This process is the only way for the candidate to earn public credibility and religious authority.

Moreover, the National Religious Affairs Administration has issued the Measures on the Management of the Reincarnation of Living Buddhas of Tibetan Buddhism, which strictly govern all reincarnation procedures for Living Buddhas, including the Dalai Lama.

Is the above an excerpt from "CF40 Policy Brief", which concludes that both of China's consumption and GDP are underestimated?

While we are at it, here is Glenn's rebuttal of Michael Pettis' nonsense.

Since China's domestic market is 10x bigger than America's, there is little incentive for Chinese battery makers to set up joint ventures in the US.

If by actual consumption you mean cars, electronics, eating out, consumption of protein, fresh veggies and fruits, and travel, then you are absolutely right. China does not have coveted big ticket spending items like property tax, litigation fees, medical bills and insurance, only fans, and other exclusively first world privileges. Heck you don’t even need to pay income tax unless your income is over a certain threshold. Tell than to the 50k a year US workers…

ICE is now accepting 10,000 applications. With the funding they've received from Trump's BBB, they are now officially the largest law enforcement agency in American history.

I do have to chuckle at the salary, I believe its actually even lower than In-n-Out burger's. But the ranks will be filled with rednecks and incels who just want the opportunity to brutalize non-Whites for fun anway.
Well this is the bginning of A.S.S Division LSDT-LeibStandarteDonald Trump-Orange Bozo's own private army totally MAGA loyal and using the legal loophole of ICE being law enforcement not direct military to circumvent any laws-like Posse Comitatus- prohibiting this.

However, the minds of mentally ill people do not contain the word "fear".

A mistake, next time stick to your talking points. Everyone knows EU is a US lapdog, there is like no reason at all to try and talk in depth with them.

Seems like punishment is coming

China-EU trade tensions rise as Beijing levies anti-dumping tariffs on European brandy

Curious why Finbarr is still in Scmp tho..

The excellent Matinale Européene has verified this with its own sources
WY is a seasoned diplomat, im not convinced on this, "kallas push WY off the rails" thing, if ever it really occured. If it did, i can only assume WY was deliberate... if ever WY really said that CN would prefer it "pr0longed", arent EU already doing it themsleves? Will EU stop Ukr pr0ject, just bcoz of thay?
Kinda makes no sense... if true, they maybe reason for it...

Sooner or later these groups of idiots would escalate into attacking chinatowns and lynching Chinese people on the streets by the hundreds. I hope china has a contingency plan in the event this happens.

These south Korean right wingers are not rational, they are rabid ideologues who believe Chinese people are the great Satan and deserve to be wiped out.
Looks like they are also "pr0testing" in english abt the panda, making narrativ that Panda returned to CN is worse than when in SK..

If you read the additional comments by WY instead of just that one paraphrasing, it's literally a warning to the EU that China can push Russia into total victory. He says very clearly that if China really supports Russia on this, it would have been over very quickly. The EU puppets are trying to spin receiving thinly veiled threats from a super power as being some diplomatic triumph. It's really quite pathetic actually. And now they are being threatened with termination of the business portion of their summit, meaning likely a huge hit to Airbus purchases.
