That is completely incomparable. That would be equivalent to saying: German Americans have the same opportunities as English Americans. East Asians having opportunities in East Asia should be no surprise. Especially more so during Tang dynasty, when it was (falsely) believed that Japanese were descended from Qin explorers.

You are moving the goalposts. The statement disproven by Abe no Nakamoro's example was "There is not a single society/nation throughout history that offered equal opportunities to a minority group that was not the majority group and/or the group of the ruling elite.". The fact there is even one single society/nation in history that has done so disproves it and I have given a counterexample. Japanese in China are definitely a minority group not of the majority group and were not of the ruling elite. There are no other conditions in that statement, and trying to add on additional conditions like trying to say they have to be from a different continent or entirely different region of the world is moving the goalposts.
The whole point is that the United States is hypocritical when it comes to claiming to be equal and fair and meritocratic, because there are still so many invisible glass ceilings and covert racism, because Tang dynasty did better in that regard. The equivalent would be if somebody went to the United States from Japan, naturalized, and then became governor of a state. Does anyone see that actually happening all within 1 lifetime? The closest I can think of is Bobby Jindal but even then he was the son of 1st generation migrants and was born in Louisiana, the same state he eventually became governor of, and I think he was desperately trying to whitewash himself by being adopting anti-Muslim and anti-Mexican stances like the white supremacists.

As someone who has lived nearly 30 years in the west and born as 2nd generation immigrant I can tell that groups earning this or that doesn´t matter really in the bigger picture.
Both the white collar workers and blue collar workers are suffering including the highly educated once who all live from salary to salary hence all the stats just keep pitting them against each other and if you look at it someone making atleast 1000 usd LESS then you a month there is not much difference in the US or anywhere else in the west.
But what they don´t tell you is the percentage of the 1% aka these who made it and become rich. They never tell you about their demographics, background and there is no pitting against them.
The truth is everyone is chasing an illusion except the 1% and I mean all of them the blue collar workers, White collar workers, the highly educated once and honestly there is no difference between them at all just because someone is making thousand dollars more then you doesn´t mean shit but they are all equally broke in this high rising prices each day and inflation riddled west. They are all made to chase an illusion and a repeatitive life. Get up every morning and go serve someone to get a salary.. They will never know what true freedom is like.
I have seen plenty of 2nd or 3rd generation immigrants make it big in the west and become multi-millionaries but you will never see these on any stats and when I say immigrants I mean immigrants of all walks of life including Chinese-Americans, hack even Chinese-french, Algerian-French, Danish-Somali, Swedish-Moroccan, English-Pakistani etc etc.
In my honest opinion: the 1% is fooling the remaining of the population I have seen this with my own eyes and the rules are set in such a way in the west especially in Europe where it´s extremely difficult to become rich for an individual because they don´t want many rich people hence they will keep many European locals as cannon fodder poor and keep them as blue and white collar workers and some doctors and what not by sky rocketing the tax which is at whopping 50% and this disheartens anyone who wants to become self-suffient and open his own company or business.
They also do alot of brain washing in the school systems and all they promote and glamorize are only blue and white collar works and to put it short it is mostly works where you don´t and won´t own anything but either work or offer services and you get in return salary which means they just wanna put you in the working place like a horse but they don´t wanna help you.
Because if they wanted to help you make you rich they would have told you to go to business college and thought you how to run a business and eventually how to open a successful business of your own that makes you millions but no. They will tell you get this education and get work on this place or that place get monthly salaries they only want you in the market place as another work-horse hence the school system doesn´t want you to become rich and self-reliant but rather just another work-horse in the system that relies on the system for monthly pay checks hence the system is rigged against all students from the beginning.

Vast majority of people are too stupid to open a business. Imagine them having to deal with supply chain, economics, legal, paperwork, administration etc.
Vast majority would get bankrupt and then have to be bailed out. It's just bad business and bad gov policy to promote business to the majority of people
The ones who are talented will eventually end up creating their own companies anyway. As for the others, into the grind you go

It is not the smart or talented once who end up creating their own companies but only the desparate. They put all the talented smart people into salary works and turn them into work-horses for the system.
Even if they get bankrupt atleast they would know the truth and no if they were trained to be successful businessfolk then they would most likely succeed but there is no interest in that because it doesn´t benefit the system.
Honestly they are not helping anyone by this but they just want another work-horse.
The System only wants to feed the system and keep running it.
It´s like keeping this huge fire keep going but instead of woods you keep the fire turned on at all times with work-horses hence the system just keeps throwing the work-horses into the fire in order to keep it running.
