In today's American political context, that only translates into acting like an idiot because most of the voters are idiots who identify with a big honcho idiot. How much of it is acting and how much of it is real? Does long term acting become permanence?

Interesting story: my cousin had a boyfriend who was a PhD in botanical compounds; he was hired by the fashion industry to research botanically-derived innovative dyes for mostly for denim. As he got into fashion, he came to realize that every male who was highly regarded in the fashion world exhibited a homosexual or homosexual-leaning phenotype. So to further his own career, he began to act gay. At first, it was just at work and he turned it off when off site, but then it became more and more dominant and he just acted gay as hell all the time. He was never actually homosexual (according to my cousin) or interested in engaging in homosexual activities with men but it just became a part of his personality that he could not really turn off anymore.
The older I get, the more I have come to the belief that every gay person, whether male or female, is that way due to unresolved childhood psychological trauma. That is, if they were brought up in a different environment, then they would not be gay but straight. Am I bad for thinking like this?

I think I haven't been clear enough in explaining my position - apologies. I think we agree on most things in terms of material reality.

In short, this is my position:
  1. competency in governance has no bearing on political success in the USA (save only in disaster situations);
  2. as such, Trump is adept at navigating the US political system, despite being incompetent at actually governing; and
  3. in that context Trump demonstrates a cunning that the rest of the US political establishment does not.
In that context, to your points.
Fucking up COVID management to the degree Trump did despite having the CDC recommendations at his fingertips is insanely incompetent and stupid. It's all him; everything is a chance to shine or flop.
Agreed - he is incompetent at governing, and this is a good example of it. It's just that this particular situation the incompetence actually impacted on the day-to-day lives of people in a meaningful way, which impacted on his election. Think of all of the other shitshows that Trump did during his first term that didn't end up meaningfully impacting on his re-election chances.

No. Nobody else would have thought, "Hmmm, we lost the first trade war we started with China so the second time around, let's start a trade war with everyone including China." Trump is outstandingly stupid even in American politics.
Agreed again - but he played it in such a away that he fed his base red meat politically, and then pulled back early enough that they didn't actually feel that much pain in their day-to-day lives. It was incredibly stupid, but it was not damaging ultimately to him personally in a political way.

China's playing chess. America's playing checkers. Trump is playing some shit he invented where he attacks his own pieces and causes problems for himself. Trump is the only person who would have taken Biden's economy growing at 2.4% and literally forced it into contraction while attacking everyone America was supposed to lean on for help with China.
Not quite I think - China is playing chess, Trump is trying to flip the table, but he hasn't realised that China has bolted the table to the ground and not even full retard strength can flip it.

This is so absolutely ridiculous I don't even know where to start lol

Let me guess, you don't have any gay friends or family members and came to that conclusion based on what you think you know about gay people (i.e. probably propaganda and stereotypes)?

Did you know a huge amount of animals (including all great apes) also form same-sex couples (for life!) and have homosexual sex? Do they all have "unresolved childhood psychological trauma"?
