imo, militarily, the most China will do is to take back taiwan some time in the future. It will come before 2050. they won't involve themselves militarily on another country.

even defense sales to iran is very limited. iran recently had bought raw material for building ballistic missiles from china.

in other words, China wants to pursue to be an economic superpower, not a hegemonic superpower.

No, that is a hegemonic power. China is a rising power. When rising powers act like hegemonic powers, they greatly jeopardize their future. China is doing everything it should be as a rising power, which is to keep as low a profile for as long as possible until it emerges at a point too late for the standing hegemon to contend with.

Every "great power" that acted recklessly, without regard to blowback or sustainability ended up being "not a great power".
Operation Sindoor was an act of recklessness, did that strengthen India's hand or weaken it?

So why hasn't US recognized Taiwan as independent if China is so weak?

Where was your country's support when China was getting pummeled by Imperial Japan, getting killed in the millions!! Where was the world when China was being hounded for false genocide against its own ethnic minority population, the trade sanctions, tech sanctions, financial sanctions; not to mention all the heinous accusations the entire western world heaped and continues to heap on China and it's people? NOWHERE!!

If China didn't have the heft, military and technological might it currently have then we wouldn't be having this conversation because it too would have been curb stomped many moons ago by the Soviets and by the U.S. from the day the People's Republic of China was born!!

Get off your moralistic nonsense buddy. China does not owe the world and wherever neck of the woods you come from!!
