This Trump/American narritive has been refuted by Chinese narritive, take whatever you want to believe. the 30% US tarriff is devided by 20% before April in name of drug and 10% from Trump's new "war". For the 20% pre-april tariff China has already responded with retalitory measures. These measures were never mentioned in the so called deal in June, meaning they are still there. The 30 vs 10 is just a the usual feel-good game of word by Trumpists.

Even if in the long run China has gained by adapting to US actions but the fact of the matter is China keeps bowing down to US atleast publicly. That's not good.

I don't dispute the "deal" in Trump's 1st term, but so far this round since Trump's 2nd term, what is China's "bowing down"? All I see is Trump saying there is a win, but nothing has been shown to the world what his win is, not even from American media. Where do you get your impression?

Track record does say something, but when we hit a milestone everything will change and track record means nothing and would be missleading. And we know the milestone is coming or maybe already here and now.

I find it ludicrous that people are taking Trump’s claims seriously. You guys didn’t trust him when he said that he would build a big beautiful wall. You guys didn’t believe him when he said he’ll restore US manufacturing. You guys didn’t believe him when he boasted about F-47 being the best plane in the history of stealth aircraft (when it is just a painting IRL). But all of a sudden 80 percent of the forum believes that he got China to cave in to his brain dead trade war demands. In my humble opinion once a liar, always a liar. Burden of proof is on the MAGAs, not China.

I find it funny that this forum is all about posting statements and news pieces from the West and labeling them as copium. But a single tweet from a pathological liar like Donald Trump and it sends everybody here into the biggest meltdown since Pelosi landed in Taiwan. Did people even bother reading the two articles that WSJ wrote on the "trade deal?"

In short, all the tit for tats that were taken after Trump's so called "liberation day" were mutually repealed and both sides are back to square one. Ie. This is Trump's classic strategy of create a crisis, resolve crisis as if nothing happened, and then say "oh look, I saved us all, winning!" And really, considering that he's facing mass unrest over immigration and potentially going to war with Iran, he probably felt tensions with China was better off being resolved with a face saving deal to let both sides off the hook and focus on bigger fish. What more needs to be said than that the stock market barely reacted to this news? Everyone knows the deal changed nothing.

You are dealing with retards with the economic understanding of 5th graders, that are fighting among themselves, these clowns can't even agree among themselves let alone any other country. Trump STILL believe that China is paying for tariffs and is not a consumer tax. At least the EDA issue seen for now to be solved, hopefully giving Chinese company enough time to switch to local solutions without losing too much money and time, because some EDA tools are critical.

Even according to Trump China just said it will expediate granting license to companies China never said it wont, but also no companies China already said it wont.

US pressure was on the export control system where they need Chinese permission for everything they do, and Trump just gave up all pressure and accepted that Chinese control, in exchange for China easing their pain with a 6 month permit that China can revoke anytime.

Give it to Trump to frame a complete national humiliation like this as a win.

It's too early to jump to conclusions, and I don't know why you keep repeating the 30% vs. 10% difference. The 20% is due to fentanyl-related action, which is before the April 6th liberation day tariffs and China retaliated with targeted tariffs. For the reciprocal tariffs, China already achieved equal reductions. Fentanyl cooperation is a low-hanging fruit, easily resolved in due time, trade negotiations took many months in the first trade war, nothing is achieved in one or two meetings.

Having export quota is why there is even a license system. The license is the quota, with added end use restrictions.

Nothing officially changed on the China side, unofficially American auto gets to live for 6 month and only 6 month.

China did 2 things in April: total RE export control and then unofficially also holding up license grants, US negotiated for the second unofficial holdup to be expediated and in the process was forced to accept the first thing which is strict licensing system
