I think you have really high expectations in life if you expect these people to understand ANY subject that has basic math on it.

Natalie Winters is indeed the name she was born with. Her father is named Robert Winters and her late paternal grandfather was named Nathan Winters.
Not looking to dox anyone, but Miss Winters is a public figure and her father is a(n aspirational) public figure too. He has apparently appeared on television at least a few times.

Natalie Winters supposedly grew up in a ~$4mm USD home in Los Angeles county, and attended Harvard-Westlake, which is one of the most prestigious private schools in Los Angeles.
Interestingly, Harvard-Westlake even celebrates and therefore closes for major Jewish holidays. As you can imagine, it's a great place for meeting the children of media executives, and by extension, "Hollywood elites."
Probably one reason why Miss Winters has gotten so famous (or infamous enough) so quickly.
Her father is a MD by training and profession while Mrs Winters is reportedly a stay at home mom ten years his junior.
Therefore, Miss Winters is not necessarily the daughter of a trophy wife or 二奶 or woman of that variety, but might be close enough to it: this would likewise likely explain some of her mental health, especially self-esteem issues, and by extension her nonsensical worldview.

All the recent elections have the current incumbent party winning.
While I'm sure this is a rejection of Trump style guys who are openly anti China, I think its more to do with the fact people are scared of change and just vote the existing middle guys in who don't rock the boat.
A lot of people claim to be "progressive" but thats a lot of crap. Progressive means embracing new things that are outside the institutional status quo that will likely get you in trouble. If you embrace existing values that doesn't punish you then thats just accepting the current status quo.

TBH, I don't think Natalie Winters is necessarily lacking in intellect (her audience is a different story), but just too weak to acknowledge reality, too afraid to be the bearer of "bad news," and too desperate for the approval of others to challenge or even contradict her tribe's prevailing, albeit largely factually incorrect and likely catastrophe inducing narrative.
Her proselytization of the cannon of MAGA is not only a coping mechanism, but it allows her to win the approval and attention of others — even if they're dull and dimwitted — so she may feel better about herself, albeit temporarily.
This is not at all uncommon in the US with certain demographics.
