The head of the Trade Remedy Investigation Bureau of the Ministry of Commerce answered reporters' questions about the anti-dumping investigation launched against imported medical CT tubes originating from the United States and India.

Q: We have noticed that the Ministry of Commerce has launched an anti-dumping investigation against imported medical CT tubes originating from the United States and India. Can you tell us more about the situation?
A: This anti-dumping investigation was initiated in response to an application from the domestic industry, and the investigated products are some ball bearing medical CT tubes. The preliminary evidence submitted by the applicant shows that from 2022 to 2024, the cumulative import volume of related products dumped from the United States and India increased by 13%, and the import price continued to decline, which depressed and suppressed the sales price of domestic products, and the domestic industry was in difficulty and in a loss-making state.

After receiving the application from the domestic industry, the investigation authority reviewed the application in accordance with relevant Chinese laws and regulations and in accordance with WTO rules, and believed that the application met the conditions for filing an anti-dumping investigation and decided to initiate an investigation. The investigation authority will conduct an investigation in accordance with the law and make an objective and fair ruling based on the results of the investigation.

Q: We noticed that the Ministry of Commerce had previously launched the first industrial competitiveness investigation on related products. What are the connections and differences between the two investigations?
A: Both investigations were initiated at the request of domestic industries, but there are differences in product scope and investigation content. First, the product scope is different. The industrial competitiveness investigation involves imported medical CT tube products, while the anti-dumping investigation only involves some ball bearing medical CT tube products imported from the United States and India. Second, the investigation content is different. The industrial competitiveness investigation is a factual investigation that focuses on the impact of the import of related products on domestic industries and their competitiveness. This investigation is not targeted at specific countries and regions and does not affect normal trade. Anti-dumping investigations target unfair competition behaviors of imported products from specific countries and regions, and the investigating authority may decide whether to take anti-dumping measures based on the investigation results.

I would like to emphasize that the investigating authority will conduct two investigations in accordance with the law, fully protect the rights of all stakeholders, and safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of domestic industries.

I don't know anything about these kinds of Livestreaming people, but this guy's act is a little too over the top, at least with respect to the cars.
Like obviously he knows about these cars beforehand (Su7 Ultra, U9) to make the arrangements to do his videos. So his extreme reaction is a bit too much.

That being said, it is good to see a video about a car being cool rather than a formal review.

It's not easy to get a car over to the US and drive on the street if you are not a manufacturer (ie. Jim Farley's Su7, seen a SAIC Buick in Canada, also Opel when it was owned by GM)

At best you could do this

Bill Gates famously had his Porsche 959 impounded for a long time.

In any case, the Chinese companies already know. Lei Jun (CEO of Xiaomi) posted a drifting video on X with an English description. Obviously the video was meant for westerners. You also see a lot of English on the slide decks of the BYD intros in China, again knowing it will likely be attended by foreign journalists.

Minnanren Intel CEO finally convinced TSMC to sell out the rebel province

Nah, he doesn't know jack shiz about cars in general. He was literally asking what does carbon fiber do on a car in that video. Where do you think he would find the time between his whole-day live streamings to learn about Chinese cars? Most Americans don't know anything about Chinese cars, a 20 year old full-time streamer certainly wouldn't.

So as I said, Chinese dragon sized bazooka was just fired.

And, as I said again in the past, China wouldn't tolerate Trump bs on his second term. 2025 China is incomparably more powerful and more diversified than the first trade war.

China is going all way till the end against the US. Remember what was said one month ago?
"If war is what the US wants, be it a tariff war, a trade war or any other type of war, we're ready to fight till the end"
