I'm not sure if localizing production at this stage will be sustainable, as they either have a cost of labor increase, or a BOM and cost of labor increase if parts are also being localized.
Moving production to the US will be probably more expensive than the tariffs itself,as you say BOM will have tariffs so they can't source cheaper materials anywhere. Is good political move if SamSung is looking to court Trump thought.

The aviation security committee, which was mandated by Congress after the 1988 PanAm 103 bombing over Lockerbie, Scotland, will technically continue to exist but it won't have any members to carry out the work of examining safety issues at airlines and airports. Before Tuesday, the group included representatives of all the key groups in the industry — including the airlines and major unions — as well as members of a group associated with the victims of the PanAm 103 bombing. The vast majority of the group's recommendations were adopted over the years.
This is probably the biggest deal out of this recent firings. A reminder that the Boeing 737 Max accidents happened under Trump and the FFA was running around like headless chickens when it happened. Hope you don't fly too often.

I am sure you will see the same kind of result in Japan, Taiwan and Hong Kong. East Asians have the worst white worship out of all. THese countries and so called Chinese liberals have the worst impression of China.
Two reasons.

First, the effects of the media. South Korean media is just as toxic towards China as US media, constantly magnifying negatives and down playing positives. Also manufacturing conflict - especially historical disputes - and taking maximum offense at the slightest perception that China is "claiming anything Korean" and making it seem like Chinese are inferior, culture stealing idiots.

Second, while I wouldn't bet on Japan having better perceptions of China, I will mention that South Korea also has the conflict of interest vis-a-vis North Korea. China is much more friendly towards North Korea than South Korea and in that situation, you're going to get a similar effect to Chinese's perception of any country that supports Taiwan.
