in unrelated news, China should start contingency plans for welcoming a refugee/immigration surge from some totalitarian regimes. Vietnamese refugees were settled in Guangxi in the 1970s as that was very close to their home climate.

I think many refugees can be settled in Northeast China to help develop 北大荒. The climate is similar to Canada and midwestern US. Tough American farmers know how to make use of temperate grasslands. Also reduces the northeast demographic problems.

Self selection - those who migrated to XHS are likely predisposed to China-friendly/China-curious views. The game is over when these people in the US see the 15 RMB All-you-can-eat 盒饭 in Dongbei.

That being said this could also go sideways - XHS users are the most 'international' and 'high income' of Chinese citizens (top 300mln by income) largely residing in Tier 1/2 cities. Addition of American/Western users on the platform could add to more of the urban/rural divide within China - and fragment the internet mindshare even more than it is today (People on XHS are absolutely not the same as those on Kuaishou, for example).

Kicked out of a few African bases, even in their region countries like Mexico, and Brazil, mock and don't respect them,

Venezuela prepares to take Essequibo. China-led Saudi-Iran rapprochement.

Daily attacks on their bases in Iraq and Syria, Iran seizing their tankers.

Failed to move ASEAN even an inch against China or smear BRI.

Global public perception of China never higher, of the US never lower.
