I wonder if this was calculated because Republicans and other right wings, proud boys etc... do not like Jews at all. They won't like hearing him call out Jew haters because they are that. They support Israel as a nation for killing those in the Middle East who are anti-USA but they don't like Jews and their closed off societies in America. However, Trump could also realize that they hate Kamala so much that he's not going to do enough damage to sway their vote away from him just by saying that.

it's not even a tariff. Officially, it's a security deposit for now. I guess they want to be flexible. Depending on how the negotiations go, the deposit could become a tariff and thus confiscated or it could just be returned to the importers if a deal is made

for now, domestic buyers have probably smelled the coffee and will most likely be more reserved on how much they buy
