I dont know if it's govt or any other factors involved, hence that was my question. But i do know for a fact from multiple sources that alot of luxury brands are not performing as forecasted because they're underperforming in the 'Chinese' segment, overseas and local. My network ofcourse does not cover all the brands nor representative of majority of the global brands, but some of them are top tier global brands thjat 99% of the people here I'm sure have heard of. Perhaps my sample size is not representative of the entire industry, but it's a space to keep an eye on.

I dont think the government needs to intervene here, the market will kick these dinosaur ICE manufacturers out if they dont become innovative and competitive.
