Airpower in Ukraine is effective because Russia adapted its tactics to modernity.

Instead of the proven failure tactic in Vietnam of sending heavily escorted bombers directly over Ukrainian cities, Russia focused air to the frontlines, especially when Ukraine had to cross flat terrain.

Airpower can't take out (semi) modern air defended and fortified troops. The extreme example is Gaza, where Hamas is by all means a pathetically equipped foe, but through modern fortifications, they cannot be defeated in meaningful numbers by air raids.

So what Russia did is to let the enemy troops come out of their fortifications, rather than bringing the planes to above the well defended enemy. The equivalent of waiting until line infantry broke their squares to advance or retreat, before signalling the cavalry charge.

I'm trying to understand their logic from a purely financial perspective.

Disagree on one point.

These are not arguments, this overcapacity accusation is flat out propaganda. Little wonder a publication like The Economist would be peddling it, given their imperialistic impulses.

They are getting beat and there is nothing they can do about it. That is what stings. That is why they are so bitter.

But there is the irony too. The Europeans, the business community, realizes they are getting beat, so they makes deals with the Chinese, to stay in the game. The Europeans, the government and assorted mouthpieces, do not acknowledge and cannot accept they are getting beat, and lash out.

I think we should be very clear on those points, even though some diehards will obviously disagree.

Hey man, I got the perfect answer for you!

In this video, the Chinese government gave CATL 5.7 billion in subsidies due to various policies in place from the past, while CATL had 44 billion in profits for the year, which they will have to pay tax on. (About the 3:30 mark of video).

In other words, the Chinese company is so strong now, these subsidies are a pittance of their actual profits they make.

So the complainers start to complain for complaining sake.

Watching that video will hurt for some people in the West.

Kind of interesting, because the Western media is still reporting the truth, but the propaganda onslaught is suppose to hide or deflect from it.
