And foreign enterprises weren't stupid, they tried to stall development as much as they could and only give the bare minimum. And even then, the government needed to dedicate enormous resources for the 'IP' to be actually transferred. Either pure (often outdated) IP or skill transfer.

Reality is much more complex than what these single digit IQ think-tankers think with their singleton brains.

This is probably why the BJP underperformed. India's GDP grew by 8.2% during the last fiscal year, so India's GDP has grown at an average rate of 4.675% since 2020 (-5.8% in 2020, +9.1% in 2021, +7.2% in 2022, +8.2% in 2023).

Some third world countries like India also get rather ridiculous gdp modifier because they borrow Chinese industrial power to keep their cities functioning at low prices.

There are many companies in China specifically designed to sell to the third world, and they have dominant market share in terms of appliances, infrastructure etc. in many of those countries. India by itself would struggle to even design a washing machine. But because someone is willing to sell them at low prices as their strategy to extract value from the third world, they get a super high gdp modifier, as it assumes everything Indian is cheap.

In reality, if you were to cut off trade and force India to design their own modern amenities, it would be anything but cheap. Food maybe and other basic resources would be cheap, but not everything needed to run a modern society.

I really thought Modi would easily win a supermajority. Can't believe that might already be ending.

All that chest thumping from Indians online might end before it even takes off.

China will never be successful because it is passive. Throughout history nations become strong or weak. When China is strong, they feel self-righteous and stop expanding itself. When smaller countries become strong, they expand and exterminate any future competitors. China never take advantage of its strength, so it is only a matter of time when it becomes weak again and get taken over by currently weaker neighbours. All you need to do is making Chinese feel self-righteous and leave them alone, and they will implode on itself.
